197  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Make Up / Natural Redhead Project: 10 retextures/recolors (2 reds) of Maxis' wispy beard on: March 25, 2007, 01:38:29 pm
:director: UPLOADING MY FILES TO THE EXCHANGE OR PAY SITES IS BAD KARMA.

For the Natural Redhead Project: 10 recolors/retextures of Maxis' wispy beard. It's a base game mesh, so it should be usable by anyone.

These are all color-binned (except green and white), and made with Legacy BodyShop. Binning basically means that you won't have to slog through all the reds, blondes, and browns if you're looking for the black one for your black-haired sim. Smiley I didn't make a family group because I'm not quite sure if family groups work the same way for facial hair as they do for regular hair (or if it's something that makes the game go kablooie, like trying to make costume makeup layerable). :/

Colors:

Reds: Auburn and Ginger.
Blonds: Beach Blonde, Ash Blonde and Platinum Blonde.
Browns: Chocolate Brown and Light Brown.
Blacks: Warm Black (a black with subtle brown highlights).
Custom: Olive Green and White.

The red and blonde shades have white for the elder hair color. The brown and black hairs have grey for their elder hair color. The custom colors do not change for elders.

Color in solo portrait: auburn.

Additional credits for solo portrait: Skintone by Enayla; the eyes, foundation, hair and freckle blush are by myself; eyebrows are from RenSim; eyeshadow is by Helaene; lip color is by vivi_nousi; and an additional freckle blush is by Durka. Clothes are by Hysterical_Paroxysm.

The skintones shown on the color swatch board are all by Enayla.

Cheesy MESH: http://xmsims.com/sims2/ehtm/hair/hair23.htm

It's been a while, but not a completely insane work schedule, nor food poisoning, nor a hard disk crash, nor my ceiling caving in at work from a flood of melting snow could keep me away forever. Smiley

For the Natural Redhead Project: 11 recolors/retextures of XMSims' hair #52. There wasn't anything wrong with the original texture; I just wanted something a little silkier for my own game.

These are all color-binned, made with Legacy BodyShop, and grouped in the same family (which means the mesh doesn't "drop" if you switch hair colors).

Colors:

Reds: Dark Auburn (with brown eyebrows), Auburn, Titian and Ginger.
Blonds: Beach Blonde, Champagne Blonde and Platinum Blonde.
Browns: Chocolate Brown.
Blacks: Warm Black (a black with subtle brown highlights).
Custom: Olive Drab and Dark Orchid (both with brown eyebrows).

The red and blonde shades have white for the elder hair color. The brown and black hairs have grey for their elder hair color. The custom colors do not change for elders.

You may recolor these files and/or use the alpha so long as your derivative works are only posted on free sites as described in the previous paragraph. Additionally, these files are subject to XMSims' recolor policies.

group shot colors, l-r: dark auburn, chocolate brown, ginger, warm black, beach blonde, titian red, platinum blonde, and auburn.

Please note now the appearance of beach blonde changes from a tan-based blond in the cool light of the family portrait to a buttery color in the warm light of CAS.

Additional credits: Skintones in the screenshots are from Enayla, the eyes, glasses and freckle blushes are by myself, all other makeup and eyebrows are from RenSim.

Clothes are by Maxis, Lliella, Helaene, corvidophile2, Heavensent6 and Living_Dead_Girl.

Another update for the Natural Redhead Project: 9 recolors of melodie9's all-ages cornrow topknot. YOU NEED THE MESH - you can find it here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=93649

These are all color-binned and made with Legacy BodyShop. They are also all in the same family, so the game shouldn't drop the mesh if you switch hair colors.

Colors:

Reds: Dark Auburn, Auburn, and Ginger.
Blonds: Sandy Blonde, Dark Ash Blonde, and Light Ash Blond.
Browns: Chocolate Brown and Light Brown.
Custom: Pink (with red eyebrows).

The elder states have various appropriate shades of grey. The pink hair is auburn in the toddler and child states, and is cotton candy pink for elders.

202  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Eyes / Natural Redhead Project: 14 freckle-linked eyes. Binned, in townie/no-townie flavors. on: January 03, 2007, 07:44:25 pm

Hello
I am in love with your red haired sims.
But I am a tiny bit confused, I am hoping you can answer my silly question.

I am using your default set of eyes alkaloid.
Can I still use one set of townie freckled linked eyes or not?
And can I use your seperate eyes sets for non redheads as well?

In other words, I adore your eyes but I don't like conflicts.

You may use all of them together. What you can't do is try to force two versions of the same color to coexist (like, "townie dark brown" in one folder and "non townie dark brown" in another - I made both versions with the same name to try to force overwrites if someone downloaded both). Eyes with freckles count as another color, so you could have "townie dark brown" and "non townie dark brown with freckles" in the same game with no problems. Or vice versa. Smiley

So, to summarize, you can have my default eyes, my regular townie eyes, and my freckled townie eyes all in the same game. You may also edit an unlimited number of any other eyes you may have in your game to be available to townies and randomly-generated sims. Smiley

At the very least, I recommend binning eyes from other creators so they will also use the dominant/recessive genetics features of the game. I think I have about 100 other eyes from other creators, and it didn't take me long to bin them up (it's just editing one number in a file). Smiley

207  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Accessories / Default reflective goggles replacement for OFB on: December 31, 2006, 02:56:03 pm
:director: UPLOADING MY FILES TO PAYSITES OR TO THE EXCHANGE IS BAD KARMA.

More glasses - this time, a default replacement of the OFB goggles that gives them shiny lenses.

The frames for these goggles aren't shiny at all. They had the same weird code that the frames for the adult + teen female birth control glasses did, so I just put in the settings against the hope that someone figures out how to fix that at some point in the future. It's a minor thing, so I'm not holding my breath.

Terms of use:

Do not redistribute the default replacement file. Do not pack it with your sims and inflict it on unsuspecting downloaders. Do not upload it to the exchange or I will come to your house and look in your fridge, commandeer your stereo, and generally act like a complete weirdo until your friends stop talking to you.

You may export and recolor these glasses. If you export them, they will keep their reflective qualities. A mention would be nice, but I'm really not that fussy.
208  Retired Creators / Female Hi-Res Bodyshape Project / POLL: What's Next for the Bodyshape Series? on: December 29, 2006, 05:12:11 pm
Cheesy I know about those, and I think they're great! I was just hoping for more options (sleeve, looseness, &c) that stretch the shirt from tip to tip (as opposed to mid-slope to mid-slope), and thought an alpha would be a good use for that.  If nothing else, you can make all sorts of fun and sexy peek-a-boo effects with a looser alpha layer.

Sorry, I used the T-shirt as my visual aid because it came up first in the image search. I didn't mean to cause confusion.

Anyway, if it's not what you want to do, that's totally cool. Smiley

I think you've done a wonderful job so far. I voted for the alpha outfits, since they are more flexible.

If possible, I'd also like to see more shirts that stretch over the breasts instead of being molded directly to the skin.

Like so. Smiley Maybe this would be an application for the alpha, so there wouldn't be a need for a new mesh for every neckline (just the sleeves and relative looseness of the shirts)?

Do the freckles appear in the catalog for blushes?

Yep yep. The icon is a freckled swatch of skin. Smiley
