Title: Infant Clothes
Post by: Missaldith on February 13, 2008, 04:34:22 am
Some members here have made cute clothes for infants. I have dl the packages and I know that only one at the time may be in the game but I cannot see the new clothes I install. The white suit keeps showing up.
Can any of you tell me how to do it, step by step??

By the white suit, do you mean the normal diaper, or just one of the overrides you've downloaded?  You might want to double-check to see if you accidentally forgot to disable one of the infant overrides in your game.  I tend to do that a lot these days myself.

Yes I mean the overrides and when I install a package I can`t find it when searching the name of the package??

Your avatar is very cute Tenshi:)

Hi, just take out of the download folder the diaper override you are talking about. Do a search in your downloads folder for "diaper" or "infant". That should bring up the files that's already in your folder. You will also need to remove the other infant diaper mesh, if you are using the Bloom diaper overide mesh and the recolors made from it.  You don't need to keep in Bloom's mesh for the recolors.

I have a separate folder titled "sims2 infant clothes". That's where I keep the ones I will be using again, I normally put it in a folder outside of "My Documents"

I had the same problem finding the ones I downloaded from TSC2 (I think that's the site), the one with the onesies.  I had to go back to the site and find the name of the file. That may help.
After removing the diaper overrides you are not using, put only the one you will be using.  It should show up.  I hope that helps. :D

No, you have to place it away from the download folders, away from the game. You can put it on the desktop, or in "My Documents", but not in the EA folder. :D

Heheh... I usually do it the tedious way, and rename all the .package extensions to .off.  That way, they can also be read by Sims2Pack Clean Installer and turned on and off through that.    Neecee's way is much better.  ;)

And thanks for the compliment on my new avi.  :smile bi:

Thanks Tenshii, LOL, I finally do something the easy way. :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I have a sub-folder in my game for clothes. One for male, one for female, and another for Unisex.  I put the infant clothes I am using in the game under the Unisex. It only has a few files there so I find my infant clothes easier. Hope that helps.

  Hmm... when did you happen to install that particular override, Missaldith?  Maybe you can try looking through your downloads and sorting them by "Date Created" in order to find it a little easier... :dontknow:  That way, you can narrow down the problem starting from the dates around the time the problem started.  ;)

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to ya this time though... (I was at school and lost my Wi-Fi connection while typing out my response, but I'm at home now with a more reliable connection.  )

Is that one of mcrudd's recolors (http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=67948)?  Looks like it's the "whiteshort.package" file you might be trying to find.    If it's not it, then I'm really not sure where else to find a plain white onesie, as that's the only one set available publicly.  ;)

Hi there, looks like one from my white set I made, it is named whiteshort If you want to find it easier, It was made Wednesday, December 12, 2007, 9:26:46 PM. I found that info in the properties of the outfit. Maybe you can search it by when it was made or modified :)

If you still don't come right, just pm me I have an idea that might work :D

Thank you very much Tenshi and Mcrudd.
I tried to search for whiteshort.package and I found it. I draw it to my desktop so it is not in the game dl-folder. I started up my game and it still was there, the baby with white outfit.
It takes me about 1.30 hour to open up my game so I did not have time to do it once again because I was off to my job. When I come home tonight I will remove the other packages starting with white.....
There was one called white nappy. Is it included in you package Mcrudd??
Hope this explanation not is too confusing...
I really appreciate your help

No, no, no. This is the biggest problem ever I`ve had with this game:(
3 times I have started the game, took all day, and still only naked babies. I don`t know what more I can do to give them clothes on???
Now they even haven`t the diaper.

Do you have another override like sknydpr's invisible baby diaper mesh and recolor (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=108937)? (aka sknydpr-naked-babies-txtrs.package and sknydpr-naked-babies.package) Or maybe it's another mesh I think was off of a German site that has long since disappeared last time I checked... and I'm not quite sure the name of the file, but I think it started with an "a" or "alexa".  :dontknow:

Check to see if you have those files somewhere hidden in your Downloads folder.  They might still be enabled without you knowing it.

I removed the sknydpr-naked-babies-txtrs.package and sknydpr-naked-babies.package and now it works fine.
Jumping of happiness:)

Little Philip was born and he looks so cute in Mcrudd`s outfit
