2  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: I'm I the only one who would rather just keep playing sims 2. on: June 08, 2009, 07:01:51 pm
I only uninstalled because I only have so much disk space, but I didnt delete anything. I backed everything up on my external hardrive including my neighborhood, my houses i personally built, some of my faveorite houses i downloaded, all of my hacks, hairs, clothes, i kept all my replacements. I even packaged all of my families. Just incase i do decide to go back.

The Sims3 is new I have an open and a hopeful mind that in the comming months someone clever will find a way to reproduce all the hacks we know and love in the Sims2 carried in The Sims3. and now that we know how well the sims2 turned out with all the hacks and cc we could have a better idea of how to improve on something that was created in the sims2 to put it in the sims3.

I dont have anything negative to say but it is only the beginning and we just have to wait awhile for creators to get the hang of the game and see if the game can be modded. I already have the no blur nudity hack and HP's improved shine on the skintone so its only a matter of time.

My apologies there emorian, it's just this teen morality promotion thing that gets me somewhat hot under the collar.

I hear ya, Im the same way. I am a parent of a 2 1/2year old and there is no way im raising her how these other yahoos with kids do.
4  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Sim 3 Bodyshapes on: May 11, 2009, 05:31:11 pm
Amberfeye teens have been doing this for as long as teens have been teens, IT'S not games or movies etc. that encourage that kind of behaviour amongst teens. You have been around 23 years, there a lot in this community that have been around twice as long or more, myself included, and I can tell you we all heard the same claptrap when we were teens, We all messed around, we all heard the terms, juvenile delinquents, out of control, no respect for their elders, and so on. The more we were forced to conform the more we rebelled, it had absolutely nothing to do with games and such, it was just being a teen.
People must stop blaming the media for something that's been going on for thousands of years. It's called puberty dammit.
I know that! If you read correctly, I said that it would give more reasons for parents to blame their bad parenting skills on someone else! Im not blaming The Sims or anybody for other people's mistakes. Parents try to find reasons to say that their kids are innocent and they were influenced by the things they watch or listen to or even play. They dont want to admit that they were not paying enough attention to their kids. I am not amberfaye btw, I was responding to his/her comment. And I have been around long enough to know that before you respond to a message make sure you have read and understood it.

I will just play between vanilla 3 and built up 2 until people EVENTUALLY get thru the code. Have faith in the sims modders.... It may take some time but I thihnk it will be worth it.
If you dont wanna buy it untill then, thats your thing. I however will be getting it on release day.

I totally agree with you. I'm still gonna call days off work to play it. Im 23 btw and ive playing since ts1 came out( i was 16 or 17). I just had an epiphany! It makes since to me now why EA didnt allowed teens to get pregnant in ts2. Because they wanted teens to play and if they allowed their teens to get pregnant, that gives parents one more person to blame why they cant control their kids when they find out Billy over here knocked up his girlfriend. lol (sorry if there is a billy who really did knock up his girlfriend) Cheesy

I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but the original request is similar to mine.

If you have posted this already I'm sorry. I didnt find anything posted requesting this mod.

I resent all the fuss that people are making about Vista. As a long-time windows user, I love Vista. I've had absolutely no problem with it, and it's an incredibly smooth OS. Just buy Vista ultimate (or whatever the newest version is) and/or get yourself a better graphics card. As someone who plays at least ONE computer game, you should really be using better technology. Buying a better video card is an inexpensive way to boost your old PC, and it's easy to install. come on, people!

I agree with you so much! I dont know what all the fuss is about vista! I think its easier to use. xp was fine but there is so much more that vista does for you. it tells you when you are making changes and it lets you know when and what is going on with your pc. if anything i believed that with xp i got more viruses and infections, with vista it cleans it all up for you. I have windows live one care and i love the back ups it does for you b/c i delete things on accident all the time. say what you want about vista, its better than xp!

I'm not sure about FT, but BV and AL are the only EPs that allow Sims to walk to work or to school because both EPs contain the code necessary for the walk portals to work on these lots.

Im pretty sure you can walk in FT i remember being able to walk to the park, but then again I have BV and all the other expansion packs.
!DO NOT DELETE THE PORTALS!

do you think that if  i remove the cars portals (not the service one, but the one use for working cars and school bus) it might work ? or crash the game ?

I never thought about that, but Im too scared to try it. I wonder if anyone else has?
11  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Re: kids and teens walk home from school...and adults walk home from work? on: March 26, 2009, 11:05:55 pm
Can I third this request? I want my sims to walk home too.

12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Hidden office building... on: March 25, 2009, 09:40:56 pm
That's a known problem. The building got hidden/deleted by one of the later expansion - FT or AL, I can't recall which. The patch for the EP was supposed to fix it but it doesn't for everyone. You can get the missing building from here.

thanks so much i feel so stupid i could have just downloaded them but i totally erased my neighborhood. I have everyone packaged but all their memories and everything is gone. Sad
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Hidden office building... on: March 25, 2009, 05:51:53 pm
is it just me or is there a hidden building in the neighborhood decorations?  its usually the circular condomiums that show up with a different picture and there are times when the object in the picture shows up. how do I get both of them to show up? sorry if im confusing, ill take a picture if the i want shows up again.

15  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Re: kids and teens walk home from school...and adults walk home from work? on: March 18, 2009, 10:32:36 pm
i think this mod would be effective if there was a mod that allowed sims to walk home if they walked there in the first place. i love how you can tell them to walk to school/work but if they walk there, they should be able to walk back. but if they take the bus/carpool they get a ride back. that makes most sense to me Smiley

you'd best list your expansion packs according to the rules, btw. Tongue

haha I forgot  rolleyes...thanks for reminding me!
