16  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Making Collections? on: August 08, 2007, 10:20:30 pm
Another question ::duck::

I'm trying to make collections for the various room sets I've downloaded (ie bedroom sets, living room sets, etc) and I'm using the Sims 2 Collection Creator from djsims, yet it tells me the recolored items don't have GUIDs and I can't add said items.  Is this right?  Can you only make collections with original meshes and not recolors of existing maxis items?  I apologize for being naive and asking so many questions..I'm not trying to be a nuisance, I just really need some help cause I've been pulling my hair out trying to get my stuff sorted. >.<

Once again I have another question :

I recently downloaded a recolor package of the Myne Door that had no decals.  In the game, there are no posters or little flags on the back side (the side inside the room) but the decal that puts the sim's picture who claimed the room is still there.  I read that in order to do that, I need to clone the file.  I'm assuming that means just make a copy of that package and paste it into my downloads folder maybe with another letter or number to stop it from being overwritten.  However, being relatively new to the game and not too computer savvy, I'm not sure and figured I'd best ask before I started.  Am I right about the cloning thing?  Thanks in advance Smiley
19  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Call Family Bin Sims? on: August 02, 2007, 08:02:40 pm
Thanks Smiley  I didn't know you could do that.  Just did a search and found out how to do it.  Thank you again Smiley

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I've searched this site, MATY, MTS2 and even did a Google search to find out if there is a way you can call Sims in the family bin.  My deal is I have more than a few Sims that I don't want to play at the moment, but I don't want to have the Sims I am playing not be able to call them (the infamous "so-and-so doesn't own a phone).  I have been buying cheap houses for these sims and sticking a phone in there so I can contact them but now my neighborhoods are getting cluttered.  Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks Smiley

Yes, I believe it was his hack that I saw before, but he said he it didn't work with Pets or Seasons.  I'll take another look just to be sure, though.

I'm wondering how you throw parties on a community lot?  I downloaded a wedding chapel and all that, have a cell phone, but I can't seem to get the option for it.  I apologize in advance if there's a thread for this question somewhere...I've looked but only came up with a hack that isn't compatible with Pets and Seasons.
24  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Customers won't eat their food??? on: July 25, 2007, 01:51:33 pm
Just wanted to say I didn't quite figure it out, but it appears to have been something with the lot.  I knocked it down and just made a restaurant elsewhere (but not downtown) and the problem went away.  Still not exactly sure what the deal was..but...oh well.  Problem solved, for now at least Smiley
25  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Customers won't eat their food??? on: July 24, 2007, 02:24:06 am
My Sim decided to open a second restaurant after her first one did so well.  She hired a chef with maxxed out cooking skill for the second restaurant and basically staffed the place the same as the first.  For some reason, though, the customers will sit down, order food, then when it arrives, get up and leave.  Another issue I was having is visiting Sims on my home lot repeatedly telling me how late it was and that they should get going, but they never left.

I may or may not have a hack or two (or ten--but who's counting?), so I removed some of the more recently installed ones (since this issue just started happening today) to see if there was a conflict, and after getting rid of all the recent mods, the visiting Sims problem seemed to go away but I still had the restaurant problem.  Out of curiousity, I went back to my first restaurant to see if it was happening there, and lo and behold, the customers ordered their food and actually ate it all.  Am I missing something?  Maybe newer restaurants have this issue, or maybe my chef or staff in restaurant number two is causing the problem?  Any insight and advice would be greatly appreciated Smiley

27  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Bringing Robots to Your Business? on: July 10, 2007, 02:59:49 pm
I have a robot that I want to take to my restaurant, but I can't do so without bringing the other members of my family.  I've tried making the other members of my family do other things when they try to get in the car, but that doesn't work, they'll stop whatever it is they are doing to go.  I've tried leaving my robot at the restaurant but it will power right back up and come home with me.  I've also tried hiring my robot as an employee but I don't have the option to do that, either.  Any advice would be great.  Thanks in advance Smiley
