If I were you, before going completely mad, I would go back to tthe store and exchange your FT for a new copy.

I have never had a problem installing the games (knock wood), but I always have the problem, once installed, of not having the auto-run start the game properly when putting the disc in the CD drawer. Well, the PC asks if I want to run the program and then, when told yes, hems and haws and does nothing for several minutes before my having to double click on the FT (or whatever) icon to begin gameplay.

Is your OS Windows Vista (mine is)? Maybe that could be the problem. DO you have the most current Direct X? I am grasping at straws as I am no techie.

While the BV InSIm is not 100% compatible with FT, the OBJ version seems to cause the least amount of conflict. Just do not use it to alter aspirations. That is definitely a dangerous no-no for now.

The InTeen is being tested now and should be available with a fully updated FT version shortly.

I built a hotel in Twikkii eons ago and it has always worked. I used the zoning cheat and it worked. I am now trying to remember if I used hotel or dorm to set it up. I don't think it was dorm as this cheat would (or should) be specific to UNI lots but...and it's a big but...maybe that's a EXis fubar.

What I have found is that one can not build a hotel on any other hood except a vacation one. Others have tried to build in the main neighborhood and have failed continuously. Are you trying to build in a vacation hood or another neighborhood i.e DT, Bluewater or any of the main hoods?

Qtpie thanks for the heads up. It all make imperfect sense now. Beach lots can not, for the most part, be binned and reused: hotels only function as such in vacation areas; houses built for the main hood do not function properly if binned and reused at a UNI locale (and vice versa).

TwoJeffs at the InTeenimater has posted a fix for a critical error in FreeTime. It fixes the problem of almost always reporting a bogus aspiration for the sim if they happen to have a secondary aspiration set.

Just unzip the file in your downloads folder to make the fix work and, for example, delete it when Maxis has an official patch.

The creation of the maids' sex is random. I had a Simmie marry a male maid and he was replaced with a male maid so it's really the roll of the dice.

EDIT: Re: parenting option, I have yet to see it in any bookcase. It may take a bit of reading for it to become available as the book criteria popped up after playing a lot for a Sim day or two. Not sure!

Ditto, Ali, I am not going to UNI until TJ gets around to fixing the walk. You're right about Maxis' programmers. You'd think in all the time that UNI has been on the market they would have bowed to the community's hatred of the "ape walk" and actually eliminate it. TJ says, remarkably, they finally have fixed the toddler play with the tiolet nonsense. How many years later??
