151  Welcome to insimenator.org / Issues & Suggestions / Re: Profile age question on: December 11, 2008, 08:59:41 am
I lost over 5 years of my life and near 400 posts in this (hopefully temporary) transfer.
I don't think this "transfer" is temporary. Regardless of what happens, unless the Inwaltinator comes back to life and you want to go crawling back, we are here to stay.

See? This is nothing like MATY. On MATY, someone asking such a question would have been pelted with rotten fruit. Tongue
153  Welcome to insimenator.org / Issues & Suggestions / Re: Maximum File Size for Attachments on: December 08, 2008, 06:57:27 pm
1) What is the maximum file size for zip and rar files when posting new uploads to this site?
8 MB, at the moment.

2) Can we use off-site links to MediaFire, if for example a Residential/Community Lot exceeds the file size limit for uploading them here?
If your lot manages to be bigger than 8 MB, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT, and we suggest you not upload it at all because it will probably corrupt someone's game if installed.

Done. I have dropped the forum down a directory so now it leads straight here.
155  Welcome to insimenator.org / Issues & Suggestions / Re: Where is the InSimenator mod? on: December 07, 2008, 11:03:11 am
Someone reposted it and I stuck it up in a section. We'll collect the rest of the Insimenator versions there. It is not supported.
156  Welcome to insimenator.org / Issues & Suggestions / Re: Where is the InSimenator mod? on: December 07, 2008, 10:54:15 am
Yeah, pretty much. Someone needs to repost it in a specific section under "unsupported", so that we don't have to deal with this.

The "Rule of 6" is not a bug.
158  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Wicked Sims/Noukie Sims down? on: November 27, 2008, 08:02:46 pm
Many WNF subsites are down because we're in the middle of a server move, and because STUPID JESSICA is TERRIBLE at organization and bookkeeping, so it's just a GINORMOUS MESS with files and subdomains scattered EVERYWHERE. It would help if I knew what actually was there to begin with.

People still actually *USE* the default package installer? Isn't that a piece of known epic fail that produces mangled, unintelligible filenames and anyone who uses it deserves whatever crap is bestowed upon them for it?
160  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Enabling Bigfoot to Interact Romantically? on: September 26, 2007, 02:37:53 am

Does anybody know if there is something (that's already existing) that might enable Bigfoot to interact romantically with other sims?
Such a thing does not exist, as many traps in different points exist to stop Bigfoot from doing so, rather than having some single unified denial point that can be overridden, but there are no technical obstacles to why such a thing cannot be made: Just that it's a lot of work to make and maintain, and also, it's nasty. There are, in fact, already some loopholes which allow this in the core unmodified game. Try a Drama Professor. Tongue

Wheelchairs are not terribly practical. I mean, a sim would need a lot of skill to pilot one down the stairs. I only try that when I'm really drunk, so that I'll be all limp and it won't hurt much when I crash.
163  Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Leap into arms enabled for pregnant sims on: November 25, 2006, 04:14:55 am
I'm thinking they weren't allowed to do that because if the action was NOT accepted, they'd get dropped on their asses. That can't be a good thing.
164  Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Pee in shower enabled for all sims on: September 04, 2006, 11:27:57 pm
I think that's used for when a sim has a bladder failure while in the pool.

This is basically caused by "stunlocking". Sim "free will" is essentially an "idle" behavior, in that sims, before finally deciding to take action because you won't, will wait for your orders for a rather lengthy period of time. What happens, therefore, is if you don't do anything, a sim will finally take an action chosen basically randomly from the things he's thinking of. If that action involves another sim, that sim will be forced to participate in it. When the actions finish, both sims then restart their countdowns towards declaring boredom and doing something on their own. If the initiating sim's action terminates first, he then begins the countdown towards when he decides you're not telling him anything new to do and does it. He will most likely choose to act on the closest object, namely, that other sim, before that other sim can finish his idle, and thus forcing him to participate.

As a result, that other sim becomes 'stunlocked', and is unable to choose his own actions. He can eventually die from this if the other sims don't leave him alone because he will never be allowed to choose an action of his own to do something that might (but probably won't) restore his motives.
