It's the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 card. Try this possible solution:

Look for the Graphics Rules.sgr file in C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/Seasons/TSData/Res/Config/Graphics Rules.sgr

Open "Graphics Rules.sgr" in notepad.

Look for "option ScreenModeResolution" and you will see settings for Low, Medium, and High. Copy the medium settings and paste them over the low settings or simply set all the resolution settings to the highest possible for your monitor.

This solution works for some people. It didn't work for me, however, and I resorted to re-installing my older 5200 card. The game runs fine now, at higher resolutions. =)

Hi gang,

After hearing the first reviews about Sims 2 Ep.5 Seasons, i couldn;t wait to install it ... I have always played Sims 2 (from the original untill Pets) in 1024x768 display mode. But after installing Seasons today, the only mode i can play in is 800x600 !. There are no other options for the display mode !.
Furthermore, the graphics all look blocky and it looks like a game from the good old days (Windows 95 and back).:sad4:

Although all my computer specifications are more than enough according to the official website (Pentium 4 3,2Gh, Geforce 6200 with latest Vista driver, Vista Home Premiium Ed. Soundblaster 24 Live, etc.); Seasons offers no options to make the game look better.:blob6:

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... Now EA Games is REALLY pissing me off !.
Anyone else having the same problems ?.
