See! Lurkers. I bet lots of people used to play D and D, too. They just won't admit it. I would get ripped at work if I confessed to my geeky past, but sometimes I just want to dust off my old half-elven ranger (yep, I had one too, but mine was black and had a bear follower) and play a game with some beers. I never knew about Lilith spawning lamia... I do know she was supposed to be the first wife of Adam in Hebrew mystic texts though, but she was banished from Eden for doing something evil, so Eve was made from Adam's rib to replace her. I don't know the text in question... but I think it begins with an H? Not the Hadith, cos that's the Islamic women's mystical text... um, am I getting confused?

Actually, if you want to know how it was done, it's really simple!

Good detective storytellers (like Cluedo here!) always make the killer a person who isn't too obvious, but who says a strange thing or does a strange thing to arouse suspicion. That's how you get the person. Then you can derive a room and weapon from that, on best guess. Then it's just elimination.

I do it all the time with detective shows on TV... and it's a similar process with House... I can never get the final solution, but I often get the second or third final one... that's also the mark of great writing, how you almost get it but not quite!

Great idea! Means that the games will last longer... it must be tough to come up with so many new ideas.

I always do! Must say, it was a bit of a stroke of genius to describe the corpse as bashed about, as it only eliminated three weapons (the razor, rope and dagger). It wasn't nearly as helpful as it could have been, which I thought was clever.

Yep, it's a suggestion. Mrs peacock, library, and globus. Because I make out that it can only be one of two answers now.

Actually, for some reason me also thinks to ask about Mrs Peacock, with the globus, in the library. Is that somewhat closer? The description of the body (as shared by you, Zorom!) renders this somewhat easier :-)

Hmm... I guess it would give too much away to see the body itself (because then you'd know the murder weapon almost immediately). So I suppose I'll start the guesswork now... Mrs White, the study, and the poison.
