46  Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / no autonomous reading or writing in diary New Version Available(4/28/06) on: April 28, 2006, 05:19:03 pm
Has anybody had a problem with this hack causing Sims not to be able to read in bed even when you tell them to?  That's happening to me and I suspect this hack might be the cause.  I hope not, but I'm going to take it out and see if it helps.

I do want to do teen and elder eventually, but I'd need to work out the clothing first.  Smiley

Hey Squinge, I've been trying to test this but my ghosts are being really stubborn and won't come out. LOL  Is there a way to force ghosts out with boolprop or anything?  So far the only one I've gotten is one of the original ghosts at the Goth house, but they're always in a good mood anyway.

Oh I even love the filename, Happy Haunting! LOL  Thanks so much Squinge!

CUSTOM CLOTHING COURTESY OF CHRIKO!

You need the following files from http://www.2-f0r-u.de/startsims2.htm

Admin note: The site is down, so please go the graveyard. There are many files there.

The TWO meshes and SIX kimono textures found under fashion/females/casual
MESH - kimono1corrybow
MESH - kimono2corrybow
Textures:
SpiritofSpring
SpiritofSummer
SpiritofAutumn
SpiritofWinter
SpiritofWater
SpiritofFire
These are the career outfits for levels 3-8.  Without them, your Sim will just stay in their regular clothes to go to work on those levels

The clothing for levels 1, 2, 9 and 10 were made by me, they're recolours of a Maxis mesh and included in the zip file.

One final word about the clothing: It's for adults only on levels 1 - 8; on levels 9 and 10 it will work for adults or elders.

CUSTOM REWARD OBJECT!

Made by me, it's a painting that does something special when a Sim looks at it.  It's included in the zip file.

THANKS to Chriko for allowing me to use the outfits!  And to Superfly, Echo, and Vagrant at MTS2 for tutorials that enabled me to get through this!

This career is intended for female Sims, though technically it's possible to give it to males, but the clothing won't work.

To install: Unzip the files to a folder called geishacareer, or something similar.  Add Chriko's clothing files to that folder, then put the folder in your Sims 2 downloads folder. The career should then show up in your game.

Please read the .txt file included in the zip for more information on the career.

Have fun!

Tried it but has one small problem the alarm clock doesn't wake them up for work.

You might want to try Inge's alarm clock.  It doesn't actually ring, it just automatically wakes the Sims up without a sound.  It's also reserveable and has a lot more features than the ordinary Maxis alarm clock.

53  Resident Creators / EP3 Mods / EP3 required:no Autonomous Watching TV New Alternate Version Available(6/06/06) on: April 18, 2006, 05:13:51 pm
This is probably a stupid question, but does this only stop autonomous turning on of the TV, or actually autonomous WATCHING?  In other words, if a TV is already on can a Sim still autonomously sit down and watch it?

This is fabulous!  I tried it and it works perfectly.
55  Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Nurse Babies New Italian Translation Available(6/26/06) on: April 18, 2006, 05:05:11 pm
I have to say again I see no conflicts with no baby harassment, except that the mothers do have a desire to nurse the babies a lot - in other words, no baby harassment doesn't stop THAT, but then, it couldn't unless Pescado were to update it now to be compatible with this mod.  But all other obsessive baby/toddler behaviors that no baby harassment stops are still stopped.  About the only thing parents want to do autonomously with babies and toddlers is put them to bed, which is the way it always was before.  So I'd say the two mods can definitely be used together.

This works on ALL noise, phones, computers, doorbells, everything?  I could actually put phones in bedrooms with this!

Okay, I don't see any clear conflicts with no baby harassment, but there are a couple of oddities.  First, the mother wanted to nurse the TODDLER, she kept trying to do this autonomously but when she'd try she actually couldn't do it, the action would just drop from her queue.  I also noticed when I had her click on her other daughter, a child, the option to nurse her was there too. (!)  But when I took nobabyharassment out it was still like this.  With the two hacks together nothing unusual went on, the family had both a toddler and a baby and there wasn't anything they couldn't do with either, and there were no obsessive behaviors like constantly wanting to bathe the toddler, so I assume nobabyharassment was working.  Nursing the baby worked fine too.  The only problem was that peculiar obsession the mother had with wanting to nurse the toddler, and the menu option for nursing the child.

Sure I'll give it a try.

I assume we're talking about Pescado's no baby harassment?  I have that and I've been using the older version of the breastfeeding hack with no problems that I'm aware of.

Squinge I'll try them both together and let you know how it goes.
