Hey wait a minute, don't leave without me!

A game code glitch makes an owned vehicle (and possibly a taxi too) leave before all of the passengers have gotten in.  This hack forces the vehicle to wait until every last one of the passengers has entered the departing vehicle.

A baby sitter is still required for going on vacations though.  Toddlers, babies, and even pets need a baby sitter when the family leaves for a long vacation.  I left that requirement in on purpose.

Forces the game to stay at normal speed upon arrival at the destination community lot.  An added bonus is that you get to actually see the beautifully smooth animations of the vehicle arriving on the screen and traveling toward the phone booth.  Rather than it all flying by over the course of 1-second with jerky animations at 3x speed.

There is a new version that fixes the problem Menaceman44 reported.
It took a long time because I needed to test the hack thoroughly to make sure there weren't any more problems hiding.

And if anyone has Sims that are still stuck from the old 1.0 version, you can just pick up the vehicle in buy mode and then hit Escape. This will unstick the Sim.

New and better version 1.3 is out.

I'll look into doing a cellphone charging money hack later. It should be possible.

- Fixes issue of grocery restocking when more than 1 fridge exists on the lot.  Other fridges would get 0 food points added.  Now they get filled up with the correct amount of groceries that you purchased.

In lieu of using food points (groceries), each meal prepared will instead cost money.  This occurs on all types of lots (residential, business, community).

The game actually does this behavior already even without a hack, under certain circumstances.  Such as?  When no apartments have their own private fridges, meaning the only fridges in the apartment building are in the shared communal areas.  And also on all community lots that contain a refrigerator.  It may even charge money to the owner on a business lot for employees that are preparing meals to sell.

But now with this cool hack, that behavior occurs everywhere, every time.  And yes, your money will go into the negative if your Sim lacks the Simoleons (but only on residential lots).  Consider the situation to be that you paid in advance with a credit card.

Even though the hack does run on the Base Game of 2004, it can not allow the budget to go negative.  So if your family runs out of money on the Base Game, then they will get free food from the fridge.

No it does not speed up the game load time. The readme file explains more of what it does. It is just a means to detect which expansion packs or stuff packs are installed. My other hacks use this thing as an addon.

I have no problem with Securom and never did. If any of you have been playing games (other than the Sims) over the past 15 years, then you knew about Securom long ago.

I have 10 year old games still on my pc that use securom protection. I would classify it as being less invasive than Starforce.

Like or not, I think around 50% of all games that come out these days have Securom. So are you going to quit playing games just because they have a copy protection? You just insert the disc and play. It's no big deal.

And no, Securom does not destroy computers or fry your dvd drive. Anyone who says stuff like that (especially on the official ea Sims 2 forums) is probably making up stories to get attention or else they don't know much about computers and are mistaken.

So, Securom is fine by me. The developer can do whatever they want to protect their game. I guess if you don't like it then don't buy the Sims 2 or 50% of the other games that came out last month either :smt120

The hack should stop the Sim from ever complaining about the car being in his/her way and stop the Sim from walking off the driveway and back on to get in. It should always work too, regardless of if an alarm is installed or not. And yep the shuffle part is what is fixing most of the stuff you described.

Hope this will do what you want. I could also probably make a hack that handles the fridge the same way that occurs on community lots, where it charges you money (instead of using the fridge's food points) for each meal you cook.

All brand new refrigerators, except those at dorms, will come with 0 food points to start with.  So you will have to buy food at a store or as delivery over the phone.

Since when does a brand new refrigerator from a store come fully stocked with chilled food in real life?  This hack makes the game more realistic.

It is an alternate version of my original hack.  This is for players who think that students are too poor and need a fully stocked fridge when moving into a brand new dorm lot or when buying a new fridge at a dorm.  Do realize that a previously "lived-in" dorm will have the same number of food points that it had when the last students moved out.  But that is also the standard game behavior, even without any hacks installed.

Remember that this alternate version absolutely requires University or higher.
