76  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Proper lay down anims on: February 07, 2011, 07:15:31 am
The work of changing heights is not a cloning work. The process being used is to transfer slots from one object to another. It has something to do with copy and paste and at the same time making the values to match the ones stated in the Geometric Node. For me it still looks like the old methode "Try and Fail" and this is not something you can teach someone. There are some people that really know how to change animations but they are not available, either because they joined paysites or because they reached "Diva" status. I'm only wishing some 3D tools that allow you to make very simple movements, some sort of macro of the most basic elements, like make it bigger or smaller to a known standard as for example the popular making of clothes fit automatically to different ages or the even more needed "make someone that is on the ground to be able to go a little higher". We had a tool to do this in TS1, I remember that I changed the size of heads to fit different bodies.  rolleyes
77  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Proper lay down anims on: February 03, 2011, 07:37:27 am
I have been working in some objects and I'm missing proper lay down animations. Has anyone been able to correct some of EAxis "fantastic" lay down animations? I took as start point the "vampire" coffin. The lay down animations are better than the original beds but some genial "emptloyees" created the animation with the sim in a stupid position holding the coffin cover with one arm/hand, what gives ... well, the stupid look as always!
I got a "Numenorian" object named "UVAtanningBed" but he didn't do anything more than replace the meshes. The animations for Beach Towel Suntanning are far better but are limitated to the ground level. I know that any object that is initialized to support weight 0x00C8 is able to hold a Sim, but it is still the issue of snapping the sim to the proper slot. Is there anyone who has any clue on this?  The massage table is out of questions, I couldn't even find the codes to enter the massage table. Thanks.

Sims4 right now? Are you all crazy? I was one that warned that it was too soon for Sims3, anyway who cares? I don't know how far the "future" is, I always lived at least 20 years ahead of my own time. Investing on whatever right now is a flop for both producers and consumers. We are (don't know how far) getting closer and closer to the new technology that will change the face of the electronic world. Soon, personal computers will be history, computers self will be museum object. I'm waiting for the technology I call "Transmission of Sensorial Impulses" (It's not invented yet, so probably it will be called differently) and this will place as "Dinossaur Age" all the present knowledgements. Companies are just slurving around because they probably know that no matter how they try to please their buyers, they are just investing on nothing, so nothing is important. Simmers are soooo worried about the puppets they got to play with. They are just that, liveless puppets struggling to mean something. No matter if you are a teen or 100 years old, use your brain to sniff a little the "future". Unfortunately human beings thing too slow (when they eventually Think!). Sorry, just venting out a bit.  Grin
79  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Bed Sheets on: January 26, 2011, 11:39:53 am
Thanks, I think this explain what I did wrong. I cloned the whole thing and I didn't even know what I was cloning. I have a child bed that is very nice and I would like to clone it and mirror it. It is a half moon and I would like to have a full moon, so I need another exact bed turned to the other side. You think that if I clone only the frame would be enough? If it is so, I suppose that when I made my captive bed I could simply had deleted the frame? Banging the head on the wall! Thanks for the help.

Could someone please teach me what could be done to correct the problem that a clone of a bed makes that the sim doesn't use the sheets when sleeping? I know that the problem is already solved somewhere but I don't know where. Thanks.

If you don't have the mentioned mod, the character data was totally deleted, this is what "unlink" means. Once deleted, there's no way to recover. Using any mod to try to recover a sim that had his character data deleted - crashes the game.

Did you refresh Body Shop? You know, every EP comes with an update version of Body Shop. You have to launch the version that came with the EP or it won't work. It is impossible to run a very custom content rich game if you: Have less than 2GB RAM, have a very old version of Windows (XP is already dinossaur!). You cannot have more than 3GB RAM if you run a 32Bits system. No matter which version of Windows you have and no matter how many RAM you stop up your computer with, 32Bits versions will use only 3GB. To use more than this you need 64Bits versions where you can feed your computer with 8GB. A 32Bits systems runs TS2 perfectly with 3GB RAM. I have 1.5GB custom content (highly compressed and probably equivalent to 20GB). Never had a sole crash since I installed Windows 7. Follow the advice to delete the 2 or 3 files that are created by the Game or Body Shop (the cache files), they serve for nothing to you and are recreated everytime you launch the game. The other critical element is your graphic card. TS3 has implemented a test to your graphic card I suppose. If possible (don't have a clue) use this test to see what is your computer capabilities. When I installed Windows 7 it run a test on my computer and gave me a lot of information on what could work or not to what!
83  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Milkshape Grid on: January 23, 2011, 11:36:20 am
I got the mesh from an object that originally was a hood decoration. The person that created the objects stated that they are the same size of a normal building. When I clone something, I want it to have lod90, so I use the Venus Sculpture as base. I exported the venus sculpture to see how it is seen in Milkshape and the base of the statue that originally occupies only one tile, appears in Milkshape in the middle of 4 tiles. I made a test to see how I could manage to place my building that is two small houses together with a round tower and came out with the conclusion that the Milkshape grid is in fact double as big as the game grid. When I place the building in the middle of the MS grid, it shows up correctly in the game. I wonder if it is possible to change some default so that both grids match each other. The way it is, it is sort of "guess what".
84  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Milkshape Grid on: January 23, 2011, 08:17:12 am
Could someone please inform me what I can do to make objects placed on the Milkshape grid to be automatically adjusted to fit inside the Game grid? I'm working with some fake houses and buildings and when I place them correctly in Milkshape, they are completely displaced when I test them in game. If I go back to Milkshape to correct it, it becomes even worse. Thanks.

Do you know what you should do if you wanted to send a very important message to the world and wished Everybody read it?
Mispell something, make a very stupid mistake like a rude grammar feil or ofend someone. Your message won't be overseen in any land in the world. And you can make statistics on how many people around the world are sick interested on bagatelles.  Cheesy

There are something named "Standard" and normally are used in lands that have no clue about what is the "Standard". Did you know that, in some languages the word "peanut" doesn't contain nuts? Did you know that "amandoas" are nuts? (for me they look like peeled cockroaches!) That "Castanias" are nuts? (taste like beans with sugar!). Well!

Really? Last time I was in US I was served an icecream that as soon as I put in my mouth, my tongue froze to ice. No one told me that an icecream could be that cold!  rolleyes
88  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: Some of theraven's stuff on: January 19, 2011, 03:41:15 am
I would like to jump in and ask why we have to register in every site to get just a couple of stuff? I understand when it deals on adult sites that has a lot of pornography and need to lock children out, but to get some baby stuff or some recolors, what's the point? Isn't it possible to make a central register that will identify the user at only one point? I stopped getting stuff for my game because it is hell difficult to remember or keep track on what or where. Second, we are forced to give out our email adress, why the hell people want to know our name and birth date? In some countries those info give access to private information and this is something that a game has no right to. Sites need donations, but people can drop some coins in the site spare pig anonimously. Sorry, just venting out!
89  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: game crashing on: January 15, 2011, 03:47:53 am
For people that are only downloaders, not modders, there's a lot that can crash a game, mainly if you don't have all the EPs and SPs. Every EP changes the formatting of the game, this is the reason you are required to save your played games before installing an EP. Hairs and accessories shouldn't crash your game but it all depends if the person that creates the accessories did a good job. Some sites place free items available just to capture an user to buy the ones they put more work on. In the case of other objects that have interactions (a sofa for example), they have to have a pie menu for interactions. Pie Menus have several instance formats (0001, 0081, 0083) and each of them have own meaning. A pie menu with format 54, separates advertising for "humans" and "animals". If you don't have pets, they crash your game.
90  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Unselectable subset? on: January 15, 2011, 03:35:33 am
It is the same problem you get when you have windows on a wall that don't go down (no cutaway). Windows don't have interactions but are solid, you cannot select something behind the window. Your object apparently has solid glass around the object that you are trying to get. What you are needing is an animated lid that has to be lift up before you get the object inside. If not, the lid must be permanent open. It is only selectable the objects that you can put the cursor directly on the top, otherwise you are just clicking on the glass.
