91  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Cant play my sims games! on: January 06, 2011, 04:09:20 pm
It is very strange that people uninstall the game at first problem. Most of the problems can be corrected. If you anyway uninstall, it is better that you do it completely and afterwards clean up your system registry. There are small and gratis programs that help to clean up registry and bad uninstalled programs.
You should also clean up all garbage that is left behind. Some trash stays in the drive C: where it was originally installed, mainly if you did any modifications in files that the uninstaller cannot recognize as original, as for example if you replace files directly in the game root or place any kind of crack etc. Those files stays behind and harm a posterior reinstallation. It can be even that you placed some clothing or any other file in one of the bins to avoid the hated stars in the thumbnail. It can be a lot of different alternatives for trouble.

Does anyone know where is this resource node:

E519C933-3CC1ADA-1C0532FA-FF6B8A91  Huh?

I checked everything inside the game and there's no match. It is used in all career outfits that include hats and other accessories. I checked also all bins and no match too.
Thanks.

I'm working over Morague's works and it seems they point in the right direction for what I want. Yes, indeed it is just Simpe work. I was looking for hidden guids but in fact the facial overrides are not guid based but on collections. The numbers that look like guids are collection numbers and there are bhav procedures to change textures in game. Morague had already done that. I found out also a way to create outfits that the game can swallow. It seems that in opposite to you, the only I really understand is Simpe, all the rest I have to crabble into.
I still didn't get an answer as to the burglar, because it is Base game and it is prior to the facial override technique. But anyway I got a positive answer, it is possible to create make-ups that can be called ingame (not directly with the outfits self, but thru specific created objects) and this I can do.
The process involves Table Ids (that I still didn't locate), indexes (I could already localize), collections (I could already identify all the links) and textures (morague supplied a template and a tutorial). So I'm not so orphan anymore. Thanks.

I know how to unhide all objects in game. You didn't understand, I don't want to have something else in CAS, I want that when I create an object which causes sims to change clothes in game, like for example my maternity door, I want that they change also all the rest. It would be used to create outfits simulating injured people. If you don't get what I want: when a sim use a towel to sunbathe, there are results that cause them to get a skin overlay (suntun or sunburn). When a bigfoot becomes elder, he gets a special outfit as elder and there are two masks, one for bigfoot young and one for bigfoot elder. The same procedure for plantsims. All those outfits have separated face masks. In the case of the firedancer, he has also a separated face mesh. When you make a sim to plantsim, you don't need to send them to a mirror to change face, it is come with the outfit or with the procedure to change them. They are not npcs, so it is probably coming from the "ideal" crap template, who is an unique npcs. So, this is the main reason why EA is a NPCies maker. It is easier. The only way to change outfits other than your personal inventory, is to create a template. Then you have double npcs because an outfit is an NPC self,  it is an object, it has GUIDs, but it was not found any better way to use them other than create a second npc just to include the bhav "Place NPC outfit on me". If you had programmed the outfit instead of a full sim template, you could just change it in game and the sim would behave according to what he is wearing. "You are what you wear" - it fits to many of us self. You think that it doesn't work? Christianlov created the all-in-one NPC. I use a modified version of it, just because it is easier than reprogram the visitor generator (don't link me to a reprogrammed visitor generator, it clashes with my game). His npc has one day off work and when she is not in the lot, my modified version (without my consent) imprison whoever visits the lot and make it to an all-in-one npc. If I found a way to reprogram outfits, I could create simple controllers that imprison whoever wearing an specific outfit guid and it would be much better than filling up the game with 70 npcs just to have different outfits in game and special behaviours.
Maybe it is just waste time for you, but I make a very unpleasant analogy on what those npcs are, compared to the real world. And I don't like it. I'll spend all the rest of the time I have left to eliminate whatever npc discrimination from my world. And I really mean it! Let's say that I'm a rebel with own cause. It is a full project with hundreds of branches and I change my goals according to new things I learn. Don't forget that I've been active on it for the last 10 years, so I'm not stuck in so small details.

It is not just a case of revealing it in CAS. I want to use everything inside the game under my fingertips command. Checking my inventory I found out an old mod from Morague for tattoos. Checking the game I saw that the special masks used in game are special overlays flagged 0x00000009. There should be somewhere any kind of index that provides a link to call them in game once they are not GUID based. In same category are the Bigfoot masks, suntan, sunburn, etc. The face tattoos are separated. I'll investigate Morague's mod and see if somehow I can use it to create my own indexes. I know that the process is laggy, but at the moment is the best approach to what I want. If I could somewhere find or include some bump maps I could have pretty realistic effects. In fact what makes this game so laggy is exactly the way the files were distributed. You have to browse the whole game to find only pieces of files, imagine what a so bad programmed game has to go through. Thanks Theraven for your interest.

Happy New Year to all of you!

Yeah, I didn't suppose it would be easy. It is possible that the burglars have something in itself that points to a full face make-up. I know that it is possible to create full npcs with all the data included from creation, the problem is that I don't like npcs. Many of the npcs come already with make-up such as the firedancer for example. I have to think on something else. Anyway you are right, there's the mirror. Maybe there's a way to program the mirror to make the changes automatically? Well, well, well, back to Simpe! Smiley

I don't know how to put make-up on an outfit. I know that the burglars use a mask that is just full make-up but I still didn't find out how they got it.
98  Simmers' Paradise / Clothing & Body Mesh's / Boxer fighter accessories on: December 29, 2010, 04:40:19 am
Does it exist already boxer fighter gloves? Has someone tried to create glasses that instead of glasses are sort of boxer fighter make-up (not make up but glasses) that can be worn only with gym clothes? I know that people has already created jackets and coats that are glasses (ears, horns, etc, too). Is it possible to create injuries make-up to be worn with sports clothing? I don't want make-ups. They have to be worn permanently or changed manually. Glasses change according to what you wear.
Thanks.

I made it now more than 20 times and yes, finally I got it to work. So, hurray, one more thing learned. I've been around reading but unfortunately I have to state that tutorials are far too complicated written. There are very much details but almost like teaching you how to put your fingers together. I entered a suggested thread that people should be discussing the techniques but in the reality there was most of all discussion on Simpe. I used to discuss Simpe at their main site, so the threads didn't help me much. Thanks Bloom for your tuts. You should change profession! All right, meshing is starting to be fun. Smiley

Problem solved! At least on this matter I won't be disturbing people any longer. Let me go to the next!  Evil

Yep. There was only one tab named Rename and a blank space, so I took it as the only right decision. I exported only the preg morph renamed as body as required, used the name "Body" to everything exported too. I'm not having troubles with the obj file but with the objx. Everytime I get an error telling me of some mismatch in line 5. It says they are expecting "Body". I'm trying many times because I realized that I need very little from the mesh program and they are: extract some parts and place them together again; cut off feet and place other ones instead; make things bigger or smaller and mirror some stuff. It is going all right with objects but not well at all with clothes. I have been experimenting a lot and sure I'm doing the wrong things somewhere. Everything sees so perfect in Body Shop but if put in game I get all the weird possible. I'll try around and read some "FAQ for idiots". It is only that I'm a very special kind of idiot - the one that cannot even find the FAQ for idiots. Well ... maybe a matter of try harder.

Hi Bloom!
I tried to have a go myself and Imported the mesh without morph and exported as Unimesh split objx - OK
(New) Then I imported the mesh with morphs (there was fat and preg morphs), deleted the body mesh and kept first time only the pregnant morph, second time tried with both morphs, renamed to body and exported as wavefront Obj.
(New) Then I first imported the wavefront obj and got the preg morph, but when I tried to import the objx I only get an error informing that the name at line 5 is incorrect. No matter what I do I get an error message saying that some naming are incorrect.
Exporting is not a problem and I get a package similar to what I got from you. Just that mine never works.
Am I missing something? PS: Now it is not just a case of brain leak, I tried 5 times with same result.  Cry

102  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Game Crash Frequently on: December 20, 2010, 09:26:46 am
I don't know if it is of much help, but even TS2 is very dependent of the version of Windows you are using. Previously we had Windows XP Pro (32 bits, 4GB RAM) and all we had was cashes for the most different reasons. Recently we decided to upgrade to Windows 7 in different versions Home Premium, Pro and Ultimate. Though Windows 7 is far from ideal up now, it proved to be much more reliable. Now when you get a serious problem, the system tries to recover and succeed most of the times. I have been experiencing some trouble with graphics that I didn't even know I had before. Windows 7 interrupts the game, recover the graphics drivers and recover again the game from the same point it was interrupted. Instead of crashing the game, now Windows informs you that it ceased to respond. You just wait some seconds and it is all right again. It always ceases to respond when it is loading something very heavy (big lots, too much ccs, etc). At least Windows 7 informs you of the problem, previous versions just crashed.
I think there's no one in the sims community that makes more changes in the game than me. I do not have any other problem and never had to reinstall the game unless I'm really making experiments that requires so (like destroying an EP completely to rebuild it again).
103  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Stairs placement pos AL on: December 20, 2010, 09:10:28 am
After installing AL & MG it became impossible to place stairs on a foundation without move objects on. Don't know if someone else has this problem, but if yes, does anyone know the solution? I got accustomed to set move objects on before placing stairs, but it is a pain in the neck. Thanks.

Sure, I thank for all explanations I can get. I'm really replacing the NPCs and career outfits and I don't really have much info about the correct to do.
I have created some outfits following the guide of another creator but what I'm doing is specific. I still need the meshes to create my own outfits. I replaced some NPCs and noticed that in a way the game create new 3D ID references but I didn't understand quite well how it works. My problem around the game outfits is that I want to give them other purposes and I'm going to reassemble all careers to be connected to my way to play.
If I can redirect the outfits to my own meshes and textures I have already half way gone. Sorry that I'm so late to answer, I very seldon use internet.
105  Simmers' Paradise / Clothing & Body Mesh's / Re: Fake Adult female pregnant body on wet suit on: December 12, 2010, 05:54:53 am
In fact the only way to get acceptable results to the work I'm doing, is to use the career outfits or NPC outfits. As I am anyway remaking all careers to be something totally different, I have a lot of career outfits available. The problem is that they share textures. I'm making a lot of tests and came with the conclusion that I want to replace all career outfit meshes by something totally neutral. So, I don't want outfits that have collar or any other top details because all of them will be replaced by plain T-Shirts. So the top for both can be simply nude. I was very glad that you included bump texture on the mesh you made. I can do wonders with a bump map. The problem then is the bottoms. No female can use skirts because it would not fit the male, so it must be a plain (jeans?) trouser for both. I do not use any NPC and replaced inclusive that Bartender thingie by an outfit that came in one of the SPs.
I'm at the moment experimenting to make my own custom uniforms but unfortunately the "Change Clothes" globals have too many alternatives to just fail.
It is easy to replace a career outfit by a custom outfit, but the problem is totally different when you have to toggle clothes inside the game. I'm still not sure what is the best procedure, so I have many doubts I have to solve self. The conclusion is that I only know that both have to be completely neutral, so a male and a female body mesh, using plain shirts (no details) and the easiest pants they can get. If I can make textures that fit both I'm the luckiest in the world. I do not need a fake pregnant male because normally I do not impregnate males. If you get me one, it will be a real bonus. As to your question which male I was going to use, I thought about the Base game male string pajama trousers, the one without a top. Didn't test yet, just thought about it.
