16  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / FREETIME - where are the birds? on: April 06, 2008, 11:16:01 am
Shame - I thought a bird would fly by (like the pet parrot let out of cage) sometimes - like a stray cat passing the house.  I must say, some of the EA SIMS 2 extention pacs are a disappointment - like in PETS - my sim dog never comes to greet me at the door when I come home from work like it does in real life (& I would have thought that was a normal thing to expect).  In the college ext pac - they could have had a hell of a lot more fun with it - esp the frat house part (didn't they ever see ANIMAL HOUSE?)  And why the heck can't you pick or custom create the child you adopt - and why can't you adopt teenagers?  Why can't a sim with a dangerous job die on the job?  I would have thought these were all obvious things to include in the game - but no.

I thought I had seen a thread before from someone who did not get to see the birds in FREETIME.  At the time I thought - well, we don't actually get to see the birds - just the bubble of a bird over your head when the sims are birdwatching - but then someone told me that there are birds.  Well, are there or not there?  Has anyone seen the actual birds yet?
18  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Where the heck is the moon? :( on: April 04, 2008, 05:18:24 pm
I never even knew there was a moon in the Sims 2 game.
19  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Adopting Teen question - FREETIME on: April 04, 2008, 05:13:16 pm
I have all extension pacs including FREETIME.  A teen sim's parent died.  I moved him into a another household and will use the insimenator to make his relationship with the new couple - child.  But I was wondering if there is any other way to make a sim couple adopt one of the teenage sims you have created yourself.  Any suggestions?  Also, when I have done this before I noticed that the "adopted" teen sim keeps his own last name - that's cool, I assume that would be normal, but is there an easy when to change his name to match the rest of the family?
20  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / FREETIME Architect's Drafting Table on: April 04, 2008, 05:05:56 pm
My sims about the reward Drafting Table for the Architect's career path.  All his drawings on it come out in gray drab and look like etchings that barely resemble the pictures they are suppose to.  Is this right?  Are they suppose to look like that?  Will the quality of the pics improve the more my sim uses the drafting table?  Using the painting eisle works fine.  Everything else seems to work fine - maybe the drawing off the draft table or suppose to look this way - but if thats so why would any sim hang them on their walls?

Thank you so much!  I would love to see your Lestat & Louie from Rice's Vampire Chronicles.  Do you know where I could find period clothes like underwear/gymwear/swimwear/outerwear that would suit these sims?  Your work is wonderful.
22  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / baby relationship problem on: March 07, 2008, 07:46:01 pm
I don't know if this is a BV ? or not - but I have BV installed so I thought I would put it here.   2 of my adult sims, who live in different houses and are not married, had a baby.  The mother lives with the baby and they have the normal family relationship flag mother/son.  The father lives in a different house and he has NO family relationship with the baby at all - just a memory of having had him.  Is this right?  If a teen child lives somewhere else they still have the family relationship with the parent.  If a child goes off to college they still have the family relationship flags with their parents.  So what went wrong?  I'll use the insimenator relationship mod to fix the problem if I have to - but if anyone has any other ideas I would be very grateful.  I didn't want to have the sims marry, but if they marry will the baby then be both of theirs rather then just hers?  If I then break the married couple up would the son be a son to both parents or just to the mother?  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  Please give me some advise.
23  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / male maid on: March 07, 2008, 07:22:12 pm
I don't know if this is a BV ? or not - but I have BV installed so I thought I would put it here - In my game I got the Male Maid to move into one of the houses so now he is a real player instead of a NPC - but now whenever my sims call to hire a maid it is always a woman - there are no more male maid choices.  I have tried calling "SERVICE" again and again but the sims are only offered 2 choices of female maids.  Is this normal?  Did I make a mistake by moving the male maid into the game and now my lonely housewives have no chance of a naughty afternoon flirting and dancing with the "pool boy"?  Any suggestions of how to get a male maid available to my sims would be greatly appreciated.
24  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Sim Celebrities / Gorgeous Emile Hirsch as seen in "Lords of Dogtown" on: March 07, 2008, 06:24:10 pm
excellent job - if you love this actor (he is one of my favorites) you have to see IMAGINARY HEROS, ALPHA DOG, and THE MUDGE BOY.

Wonderful work - I agree with JeffL1965 - he does look sad, but I love his sad look.  He will make a wonderful shy sim in my neighborhood.  Don't worry some outgoing sim will bring him out of his shell.  Thank you very much.

What area of the island were you on when you found it?  Because I have done the "dig in the same hole" over & over and I can't find it.
27  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Bon Voyage WILL NOT INSTALL on: September 14, 2007, 05:32:46 pm
Lochar, could you explain that to me.  What do you mean "Basically what I had to do was just make a new user account under my XP and give it administrator rights and it seemed to install"Huh?  How do I do that - I am an idiot with computers so if you could give me "Forest Gump" directions I'd like to give it a try.  I'll try KIMMYFRMTX's suggestion first - but if it doesn't work...
28  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Bon Voyage WILL NOT INSTALL on: September 10, 2007, 02:33:04 pm
I returned my EP to the store - the new one works no better then the old one.  I'm just going to give up - enjoy the game I got - hopefully the other new stuff - like the HIGH SCHOOL STUFF that will be coming out wont cause the same problems.  And when I'm ready to update my PC I'll try loading BV again.  But I am just so dissapointed.

The error reads "Error message reads:  Electronic Arts AutoRUN has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." and then ends with the EA games logo.

I have no idea what to do - & I have pested my IT rep at the office for the last 2 days.  My computer is XP - and meets all the requirements to run the game & then some I have all the extension packs - including SEASONS - and everything has been great - BUT - BV will not run by AUTORUN - or by doing the manual load - I have done everything I could think of and everything my Computer Guy at my office suggested.  Has anyone else had a problem with the AUTORUN not working?  I am two steps away from giving up - or buying a new PC - but I DON'T want WINDOWS VISTA (or whatever its called) because I have heard from everyone it is nothing but trouble - & all the PCs at Best Buy come with WINDOWS VISTA pre-loaded.  Please tell me someone out there has had this problem & found a way to fix it!
