You could try and invite a friend or family member over before the active adult sim goes off to work. The only problem with guests is that when it's late, they can decide to leave when they're tired or hungry.

For cell phones, if you dont have the latest CEP which enables recolors, get it from mts2

Squinges pregnancy hack is a global hack but has nothing to do anything other enabling clothing for pregnant sims. One of your hacks may be conflicting with another, best to pull them out and check if they're compatable and updated for AL.

When EA releases a patch, it doesnt guarantee most of the problems stated were actually fixed. Somtimes it can help to search insim or other sim boards to see what is effective with installing patches. Back up your game before installing patches, just to be safe.

Always put your downloads folder in the latest EP or SP you have installed. If you dont see a downloads folder, it is safe to create one. Make sure that your downloads folder is spelled with a capitol "D".

With the insimenator, you can spawn the wardrobe adjuster. Under electronics/all, the folded up maxis clothes. You can also use Squinges "Pregnant Sims Wear Anything" mod, depending on your latest ep. These will not confict with another. Keep in mind some meshes arent enabled for pregnancy morph.

The car works just like furniture for apartments. If you want them to stay when you decide to rent, you can use Carrigon's AL door hack from Sims2workshop.

Yes, you can save your sim before they go into labor. People commonly do this if they want desired gender or facial genetics; etc. The active sim wants to have a baby, the gender of the baby is not important.

Click on the family's door and select "Disalow Lot visitors" or "Allow Household Only"

There are two ways to get back your sim. You can delete, save, exit and then re-enter the lot. If you have the insimenator installed, you can spawn the summoner. In the electronic/all catagory, look for the maxis little brown box, click on it and select restore family to which ever sim you are missing.

I understand that objects belonging to the renter can only placed inside their apartment. Although, I want my sims to use the car for work. Is there a cheat to make the driveway acknowledgable that it's part of the house or do I have place the car before they move into a furnished lot?
