61  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: My recommendation is to Hold off on the game on: June 14, 2009, 02:35:15 pm
After only 2 weeks the prices are already dropping. normally you're looking several months.
For those that want to wait just a little longer, it's already on E.Bay starting price $20 US.
If the price drop is constant then by mid next month you should get it for a couple of bucks.
So much for the credibility of the game reviewers that gave this tripe a 90+ score. They'll find it hard to convince the gaming community next time some game developer uses them to promote their next project.

The thing was designed to sell and make mega bucks. Player satisfaction never entered the into equation.
1.4 million and growing, now boosted by TV. advertising.
Do you honestly believe EA. cares whether the game is playable or not? A lot of game magazines are giving this tripe 9 out of 10.
As I said earlier, once you hand over your cash you become a statistic on their sales chart.
Phase two will entail a long spiel about all the fixes and extra game play that all will enjoy and no doubt wet themselves over in the inevitable EP.
And no doubt the bugs in the ist. EP. will then be corrected in the second, and so the money cycle begins.

Bit of late news. Prices are dropping already. Apparently the thing isn't selling as hot as the reviews are suggesting.

I couldn't agree more. The scenery, the freedom to explore 'The game the sims 2 should have been" Now if someone can just do something about those pasty neanderthals.

They look wonderful in the add, no hint of downs syndrome and really lifelike, just like watching a movie, man oh man are there gonna be some pissed people when they buy it based on what they saw on the tube.

Apart from get fit ads.,supermarket specials, and all the rest of the drivel that interrupts TV. viewing, we now have 30 seconds of sims 3. No, I kid you not, they're advertising it on Australian television now.

These people are masters at pulling in the gullible.
Sell em something new, leave it bland and unattractive, put the good additions in their store, and 1.4 million+ will be lining up with their credit cards.
They had no problem conning those numbers into buying the tripe even after all the negative press. Separating them from their cash via the store will be childs play.
Just something to ponder on. One would think EA. would not be to keen on competition,so it will be interesting to compare the quality of what will be available from their store to what can be legally created for download at the various free sites.

It would not surprise me in the least if EA. decided to flex its muscles. 1.4 million and counting. The vast majority of those are probably more than happy with these neanderthals that pass as sims now.
68  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Sims 3 biggest launch in EA history on: June 11, 2009, 02:44:03 pm
Exactly what I said months ago. It's all about meeting a sales target. Reach or exceed the target and the champagne corks pop and sale numbers are treated as an endorsement of their crap.
Hold back and allow the projected target to fail and EA. will come to the party and give us something good.
Nah! 1.4 million desperado's have given EA. the thumbs up to churn out more substandard garbage.
And now the EP. cycle begins, release after release of half baked tripe, and I was hoping to get the game next year in the belief that things will improve.

Now that makes it interesting. Spore only got 1 star.

No wonder they can't help anyone, 1.4 millions requests for help, they're overloaded.
71  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: The sims 3, What do you think? on: June 09, 2009, 02:39:29 am
Yes I also have a top range computer, and no I am not a child, yes I too have played the sims since sims 1,as for my opinion of the game. Paden and MaryH answered that one perfectly.
As for buying computers,I don't. If you want a computer to do what you want, then you build it yourself. It's not overly hard.
72  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: I'm I the only one who would rather just keep playing sims 2. on: June 07, 2009, 08:33:17 am
Don't feel so bad. These people are masters at marketing these things. Take GTA 4 as an example, they had them lining up for blocks on release date and now that the awfull truth has come out, they're battling to sell the thing at a discount.
The beauty about the sims is that it will improve, thanks to our many artists out there.
73  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Frustrated to tears..and EA refuses to help anyone!! on: June 07, 2009, 08:16:56 am
Enjoy the game and take care. Try not to get carried away and play for hours at a time, the last thing you want now is to damage your pc.
74  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: The sims 3, What do you think? on: June 07, 2009, 02:10:05 am
I just had a look at what our cousins at TSR. have been creating in order to get some idea of what I'll be in for if I ever get the game.
The lots are good.
The sims?? Words fail me.
If anyone cares to, check it out and do a comparison between sims 3 and sims 2.
After doing a comparison, for me the answer to this thread is obvious.
75  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: What would you like to see In Sims3 on: June 06, 2009, 09:36:31 pm
My remark was meant to be frivolous, I'm sure that the clothing issues is some thing that our talented creators will address in due time.
However on a lighter note, lingerie may not be such a good idea at this point in time, at least that is until someone figures out how to transform those Russian babushkas into something resembling western females.
