121  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / preview of the sims 3 in freetime? on: January 27, 2008, 12:48:00 pm
A lot of those Sims have kind of ugly faces...

Really doesn't look much different from TS2. So I'll probably be sticking with this one whenever TS3 comes out, at least for a while. I was still playing TS1 at least a year after TS2 came out. (mostly because my old computer couldn't handle TS2)

This is a great thread! I've already learned a lot after looking at just a few pages. I thought I'd share a little something I did, if that's okay. ^_^

123  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Which EP Does This Poster Come From? on: January 27, 2008, 10:47:19 am
I submitted a poster set to MTS2 yesterday, but they said I need to make a change. All the posters are recolors of the 'Civic Idol' poster, which I thought came with University, so I ticked the University box and made a note in the object info.

But they said this:
General - Required expansions/stuff packs not marked
Please ensure that you check the boxes indicating what expansions or stuff packs your upload requires. All posts are required to have the correct icons showing and you do need to select them via the upload page. You can edit your post in order to adjust them as needed.

Did the poster come in the base game after all? Or was it from Nightlife? I thought I saw a list online of where all the artwork came from, but I can't find it now.

Thanks in advance if you can help me!

Hmm, I will have to try that next time.

Thank you! It was a request and the person I made them for really liked them. It was a good learning experience for me as well.

That's very nice for a first time! I just did my first bedding recolors too, and I've done only two object recolors and one clothing recolor, hehe.

How do you edit the singles separately? My beddings only look right on the double bed.

Here's my favorite out of the set of four that I did.

Very easy using SimPe!  Create as many sims as you want in a family and let that "family" sit in the holding bin.  Now, close the game and open SimPe.  Go to Neighborhoods, load your 'hood.  After a few minutes, go back to Neighborhoods and select SimSurgery.  The first box will be the townie you want to replace (Remington Harris, gardner).  The second box will be one of the sims you created in your "family".  Click on use skintone only and proceed.  This will make Mr. Harris look like your new sim in a very quick fashion.  Don't forget to click the commit button and you're done.  Good luck.

If you don't have this program, it is a free download.

I've got SimPE :3. When you say holding bin, where does that mean? Are you making those Sims in CAS?

And I was kind of looking for a way to make my own brand new Townies with their own names, etc. But if there's no way to do that, then I suppose I simply can't! Shocked

As far as I know, the only way you can do so is by creating the sim in CAS, placing him/her in an existing household and using the Family Tree to 'townify' him/her. Click on the Family Tree, select the "Remove From Household" option, and from there you have the option of converting your sim into a townie, downtownie or NPC.

Hmm, okay, that seems fairly simple, just means I have to make the sim in CAS instead of Bodyshop. I'm assuming the family tree is an aspect of Insimenator.
130  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: January 13, 2008, 03:53:36 pm
Better INCLUDED content. Though I don't mind downloading to get realistic eyes, skin, hair, etc. I shouldn't HAVE to. They eyes that come in the game make me want to rip mine out.

More Aspirations. I often make Sims family Sims because I want them to care about their children, but their main desire is always to HAVE MORE. No! You already have three! You don't need any more! Or maybe just make subdivisons of the already existing Aspirations.

Is there a way I can make a townie from a sim I created in Body Shop?

bodyshop has more options in it to make facial features more extreme than CAS. You can also make clothes and stuff in it Cheesy

Heres a tutorial if you'd like to read up a bit:

Thanks for the quick response! I'll have to give that a read (I'm interested in making clothes as well!)

In the meantime, here's the monstrosity I've cooked up using only CAS.

So these aren't made in CAS, they're made in Body Shop? I've never used Body Shop so I'm a little wary of it. What are the basics behind this? I'd really like to be a part of it!

Everyone else's sim men are waaay more beautiful than mine! I'd love to know where you guys get the wonderful eyes and hair you use. I've got a lot of CC, but I always see stuff in this forum that I like a lot more! I'll post a couple of recent favorites anyway.

River Shaw (actually a townie, but I made him over when he ended up at Chris's house and they later became best friends.)
