How old is your computer's harddrive? I had this same thing happen to me a few months ago,it took about an hour to load the game,and another half hour to load each lot,I had Seasons so I also had constant crashing and BSOD(especially in my downtown area)I found out my problems were caused by a bad harddrive,it finally gave out in January,after I got my new one installed I reinstalled everything, I added Bon Voyage,and I have had no trouble at all,the BSOD went away,even when my downloads folder was up to 8 gigs,it still only took 15 minutes to load the game with the new one installed,however,I recently had to delete my downloads folder due to massive file corruption,and even with all EP's up to Bon Voyage my game now takes about 1 minute to load(I use only Maxis recolors now,and custom clothes and hair)I have a suspicion that your problems are caused by a bad harddrive,or too much CC One other thing most people forget is to defrag thier hard drives.... this is very very important as you store more and more and more and more CC :-P Also I've read a couple of other threads that have helped me. I used a utility called the compressor to compress my CC and went from 3.5 Gigs to 2.3 GB (I backed up all my CC just in case first) and that seemed to help me quite a bit, also i made all my CC read only, that helped even more. Don't ask me why... I read it, decided to give it a try and it helped. Lastly i got rid of my cache files and let the game rebuild them and with those three things i was able to notice a real difference. and remember that the more CC or EP/SP's you've got, the slower the loading will be. (I sat two hours yesterday, waiting for the game + a family to load. around 4-5GB stuff, and all EP/SP's installed) woah.. and I thought i was bad =) |

oh, and anyother thing?
everytime one of my teen/child sims goes to school, they never come back or they do, but never get off the bus. i have to delete the bus using move_objects to get them back, and half the time when they come back, they're invisble. And whenever a sim goes to a community lot, they end up leaving, and leaving me with no sims on the lot and it'll freeze the lot so that i have to go back to the Neighborhood screen. O_o
anyway i can stop that?
by the way, i really don't want to uninstall and reinstall all of my games.
Have you confirmed that all your hacks are Kitchen and bath time compatible... sounds like you have a conflict there somewhere. |

This is a notebook computer Your core duo processor is fine (even if its specs are a bit low) for the sims + all the expansions (I play the sims and all expansions including FT on my sony VIAO which has the exact same processor, but I have a real separate video chipset), but the on board video might pose a problem because the on board video depends heavily on your CPU to help it render graphics. According to the dell web site, if you have a brand new 1525 you have a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 which is not directly listed so it might not have enough power to run the sims and all the expansions with even the basic standard settings enabled (like reflections and shadows, etc). I see there is a brand new driver from 5/12/08. Have you installed that? Also I see that the notebook displays 1280x800 but since its a built in video processor you should first try to play without all the bells and whistles turned on. Try turning off shadows, etc to get reduce the load on your video card and see if that makes a difference in the playing speed. If it does then you know you're on the right track. |

My game is running extremely slow. It is slow to the point where I cannot enter a home and cannot scroll over the edge of the pages. What can I do? also.. which expansions are you running and have you patched lately? |

i mentioned this in the edit of my last post, but since it's a new prob, i figured i should mention it in a new thread....
i got some weird error msg about a "direct 3d error 3derr not found" or somthing like that, & it crashed my whole game, therefore making me lose everything that had happened in the last hr, so i'd really like to know what is causing this cause i really don't wanna have to save every 5 seconds just to play the game, the blue-screening wastes enough time as it is...someone help please! I've seen this before, you might want to make sure you have the latest video drivers for your video card and also update directx. Thanks so much for responding. I have not installed any additional expansions. However I did go to plesantview, strangetown and veronaville and you ARE able to call the taxi and drive your car to the neighborhood. What should I do?? Angela, When you click on the add a downtown icon do you see that downtown has been added to the neighborhood?? I've had my downtowns reset a few times, very annoying but it happened to me where even though i had a downtown created for a neighboorhood it disappeard. :dontknow: |

Also -- it also does this whenever I enter a community lot, I've had that problem for awhile now. Can anyone help me out here?  Have you installed any custom cameras? Even if you haven't I've seen a couple of posts with the default sims cameras. Maybe you could use those and write over the cameras you have... Just a thought. |

I no longer have the taxi option nor do I have the option for a sim to drive downtown. Any advice? (PETS)

There is a program from called Revo Uninstaller which has helped me remove programs in the past that I couldn't uninstall from the add/remove programs. Did you make a backup of your folder in your My Documents directory (once you uninstall seasons you might have to restore your old files). FYI it is completely free.. just google it.
One thing about the crashing. Did you have any custom content that you had to modify the base game for (meaning that you put content into the \program files\ea games\... folder instead of \my documents\ea games\The sims 2\downloads)? That might be something to look at.
