46  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Scampy's Little House(unf) on: December 31, 2007, 04:15:09 am
I started to create this house as a villa but instead I ended up with this. And I quite liked it. It is a semi country style house with two bedrooms and one bathroom on the second floor. The first floor is for the kitchen, dining and living/lounge room. Each floor has it's own tiny patio. The garden is lightly decorated with a few plants. This house is unfurnished and undecorated except for the garden.

thanks to HolySimoly for the only custom content used- Victorian Porch Fence in White and Victorian Quaint Fence in White: http://www.holysimoly.com/

The rest is maxis content. Free to upload with your neighbourhood if you wish just get permission from HolySimoly. But to free sites only.

Price: $29,673 on 2x2 sized lot.

Soon I will upload a furnished version.

I just realized that I placed the desk(in the 4th pic above) The wrong way. All you have to do is turn it around. I am really sorry about that! Thanks PegasusDiana for the lovely comment!

I will edit this post in the next few hours when I take better pics of this house.

Here are some slightly better pics of room in this house. I may take more later on.

Julianna de Scampia was created for the sim who wanted everything.
When you arrive at the house in the front yard you see a small pond shaded by three nice trees. Then to your right there is a pathway from the letter box leading to some steps. On that pathway there is two huge trees which provide not only beauty but also shade. The path on one side has a bench for your sim to sit and relax on plus some nice plants. After you sim climbs those steps there is a walkway to the front door which also has some trees providing a nice atmosphere with two fountain and other objects decorating it. When your sim enters the house they walk straight into an open lounge area with a fire place. There is also the dining room there to. But there a diving wall which provides privacy and leads to the kitchen. The kitchen is quaint and simple and is also open area to lounge room. In the house the hall is really simple with just a two-corner for the kids and a poker table plus minimal decoration and doors that lead to the 3 bedrooms(each bedroom has its own style), one to the outside patio and to 2 living areas(one is connected to nursery). There is also 4 bathrooms in the house. The outside patio: the pic says it all. Outside there is a barbecue are, an outside chess table and a hothouse for your sim to grow their own veggies and fruit. Connected to the house is a Art Gallery with all the sims most precious arts and sculptures bought over there travel. It has an independent security system. On top of the gallery  on the roof is a sap an two deck lounge chairs. The house is 90% decorated and fully furnished.

This house is totally made with just maxis content with the exception of one wall created by the wonderful PegasusDiana who answered my request about a matching wall tile. Here is the link: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=66254

The house is on a 4x4 lot and costs $245,401.
3 bedroom and 4 bathrooms.

I have all expansions and stuff packs including teen style.

This house is free to upload with you neighbourhood but only to a free site.
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Base Placement squares disappear on: December 28, 2007, 02:23:48 am
Yeah I tried that even though everything in the house is maxis made except for one wall.  I am going to try moving the lot then placing it back and see if that makes a difference. I will try levelling out the lot as well using the levelling tool. Thanks for your reply by the way.

I found the cause of my problem. I have attached two pics. You can see the bamboo placed on two small squares. Those squares are foundations with half walls around them and bamboo placed on them using moveObjects cheat. When I removed the foundation from those two small squares my problem had gone.  So problem solved. Thanks for your help MissDoh!

I have had a few responses at modthesims2 about this. http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=264737
Inge Jones mentioned in the thread: The green placement squares are actually on a sort of mesh themselves, and it is possible that they are lower than the floor covering you have.

How do I fix this? I really want to finish the house and upload it.
52  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Base Placement squares disappear on: December 24, 2007, 08:36:04 pm
If you have a look at the pics then you will see my problem. I don't know what to call the green squares that appear when you place the objects. But they disappear when I place them inside the house.  I haven't tried another house yet but I will when I get back from my aunt's house. How can I fix this problem? Yet when outside in the backyard they appear.

Before you say try 50/50 method I have only added two items to the game since I last viewed/played the house. And they were a wall and floor I created. So I think the 50/50 method might not apply.
Although I will try if I can't find another cure. I want to upload this house but can't until I fix this problem.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Merry Christmas!

I have added a couple of pics. The one with the carpet shows no placement squares yet I haven't placed it. The other pic is of the roof. I though it may give a clue as to what might be happening.

This is the only house where this problem occurs.

Last time I heard, reading stickies didn't kill anybody...and leaving this hack in after installing BV when it has been officially confirmed that it's not BV compatible is rather foolish, I dare say.

Anyhow, who says you absolutely need that hack, anyway? I've been using the Wardrobe Adjuster to change my sims' maternity attire, and it's a very straightforward procedure.

Where do I get this wardrobe adjuster? Since squinge's hack is not compatible with bon voyage I might aswell install the wardrobe adjuster even though I haven't had any problems with the hack. But I guess it better to be safe than sorry.
55  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Clothing Appears On Sim But Not In Bodyshop on: December 07, 2007, 04:17:15 am
No actually the sim had it on when I created her in cas(in game bodyshop).
56  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Clothing Appears On Sim But Not In Bodyshop on: December 06, 2007, 06:38:50 am
I created a sims couple and the female came up with the clothing in the pic. I didn't select it but the game did. But it is no where to be seen in the selection of clothes in the ingame bodyshop(cas). Yet if I select the wardrobe it shows up as custom content under everyday clothing. But I haven't downloaded any clothing like it or any sim that was wearing it.

Does anyone know where it may have come from or why it's there? Thanks!

I didn't realize I could get a warning for linking there. And Yes I should have said "use at Your Own Risk" Sorry about that. But for it does work for me in Bon Voyage. Just back your game up first if you choose to install the hack. I had just come home from work at 7.00pm when I responded to that thread. Next time I might take some time before I hope to the computer after I get back from work.
58  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What Kind of Computer you run sims2 on? on: December 05, 2007, 05:58:28 am
I have:
amd dual core 3.2ghz
2 gig ram
160 gig hardrive
ati radeon x1600pro 512 mb(did have a nvidia 8600 512mb but returned it twice as it kept stuffing up the computer, I went back to my old radeon x1600)
motherboard?
2.8 gig od custom content. Loads really quickly- 5mins tops.

On the odd occasion it would lag when a delivery truck or maid or gardener arrive. but that lag would last 1 second.

I mainly build houses now than actually play. I have all expansions and stuff packs.

How Maxis Colours Does Preventek Tri-Luminlight Street lamp come with? I only have green.  And is there a site that tells you how many maxis colour options come with each maxis made object. Thanks!
