actually, before you posted i solved the problem myself. i just forgot to post again. it turned out i had a mod conflict, i can't remember what exactly. i just ran the hack conflict finder program i got from simwardrobe.com, and i deleted some files that were conflicting. if you still talk to the person who still has that problem, tell her to run the program over at simwardrobe.com and delete any possibly conflicting files. that and, i moved my sims out of their house into another one. (afterwords) my problem stopped completely.

Simmers' Paradise / Skintones / Default replacements for a skintone?
|
on: March 19, 2009, 03:15:34 am
|
hey, everyone. i've been trying to do it myself for more than an hour, but i can't do it myself. i would really like for if anyone can make default replacements of this skintone http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=4931.0someone said they would do it but they've only done the first skintone, and she said it needed to be updated etc. i really do love that skintone, it looks so exotic. i play with maxis defaults right now because before i couldn't find anything of the quality i wanted for a default skintone. if anybody can do this, i'd be so greatful. i know there are people out there who make defaults with no problem. this is an amazing community. if you can, i'd like the light skintone to be S1, tan skin for S2 medium skin for S3 and dark skin for S4. simple, i hope. thank you guys so much, you are awesome. i have all EPs, if it matters for anything.

Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Re: kids and teens walk home from school...and adults walk home from work?

i think this mod would be effective if there was a mod that allowed sims to walk home if they walked there in the first place. i love how you can tell them to walk to school/work but if they walk there, they should be able to walk back. but if they take the bus/carpool they get a ride back. that makes most sense to me you'd best list your expansion packs according to the rules, btw.

Resident Creators / Mod Requests / vampire waiter/waitresses?

hey. i thought it would be sweet if you could make some sort of mod that enables all of the community lot NL waiters/waitresses to be vampires. this is an idea i've had for awhile, and i've only recently acknowledged how much i'd really like to see it happen. so if you can, thank you so much. if you can only look into it, please do. i'm happy with whatever you can come up with. thanks. EDIT: yes, i'm sorry. i have every expansion/stuff pack up to mansion and garden stuff. the only one i don't have installed is family fun stuff because i lost the cd but i don't think that would be a problem. i have nightlife.

Hi, I've had this problem in my sims game as of today regarding my sims' UI poses. The game continues to flip through all of the 8 poses on my sim whether I'm 1. Giving my sim a command 2. Hovering over my sim, or practically anything else 3. Hovering over another sim 4. Clicking on other sims 5. Clicking on my sim 6. And all of a sudden when they're standing idle, not doing anything And I thought downloading this would help the problem. Well. It made it so my sims flip through 2 or 3 poses, rather than eight. The problem persists, I can't begin to tell you how much this annoys me. The game pauses for a moment every time it's shuffling through poses. I've attached the video I took of my sims while this was happening. While 2 of my sims are talking, you can see it happening to the girl in the background. How the sims completely reset. I can't even play, it's so perpetual. Thank you, if you can help. If not, I guess I'll move my problem to the help section.

The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: The Sims 3 (In Comparison)

As for the silly expressions, I don't mind them so much. I like going into the game in the Sims 2 and it making me laugh a little. That's part of what makes a game enjoyable. Also, I still preordered the game (collectors edition actually ) because I want to see how it is for myself, then judge the game. Because I can make legitimate arguments about it once I've played. But I don't know, it might be really good. No idea.

I do agree that the sims look cartoony, and that they could be much more realistic if realism is what they're going for. And I don't like the eyes so much, but it almost seems like this is intentional because they don't want the sims to look 'too' real. I mean yeah, we all have seen many games where the realism in the facial features and how the people are is intense. Better than the sims. But I don't think appearance is what they're going for so much in this game. Another thing though, I hate how they advertise. Like all companies they boast, and with EA they're acting like they're creating something revolutionary to the world. I really don't think they should be so happy with themselves if most of their TS2 fans aren't happy with the way the sims are looking. They don't listen to the community as much as they say they do, obviously. But still, they might be focusing less on appearance and more on the actual gameplay because they're /trying/ to make it genuinely different from tS2. uniqueness from other games is what got people playing the sims. And as you've heard people say, the jump from TS1 to TS2 was pretty extreme. But with them adding the same stuff to TS3 as they've added to TS2, Not so extreme. The graphics don't look quite as good as they could. It being a 2009 game. You'd think them being who they are, would be able to come up with something better. Because they sold what, 1 million copies of the TS2? Amazing, wow. They must be the most special people on earth. But yeah, I get where they're coming from. They want the game to sell. But it won't if they're too stuck up to stick only to THEIR ideas and not listen so much to the community. The Sims Community, they should worship. Because they are the ones that buy the games, and feed them their money. I don't think many people should get TS3 because, they need to realize what they're doing when they finally see a drop in the budget. They can't make anything if it doesn't sell; there would be no point. They would have no choice but to listen to the community. I'd say I'm kind of 50/50 on this whole thing, though. I mean, I think they're adding (most?) of the same things in the game because they don't want to drift too far away from what the sims is, if they didn't leave in anything that was the same, it would be an entirely different games. Like all the other ones. I like how the sims is the only game in it's kind, and it's uniqueness basically.
BUT, making a thousand expansion packs and then a few years later another sequel.. Financially, they're geniuses. Logically, they're morons. I was watching a video (the walkthrough) for the TS3 from a link i got from snootysims And I was reading the comments. Someone said 'this game really knows how to bone their fanbase' And I completely agree in some ways. I haven't heard it said better, lol. But I like the game overall, I love them for that. I don't know how I feel. I can argue both sides.
TS2 is still appealing to me though, despite all of the 'OMG [the] revolutionary TS3 is coming out!!!11111111' bullshit.
