I suggest contacting EA Support. Looks like an issue between Vista and Sims 3.Try MATY and see if you can find a solution in the Sims 3 section there. There's usually a score of threads where people have figured out how to resolve issues with XP/Vista and Sims 3.

I've looked for anwsers, I had a friend try helping me. We cant figure out whats wrong with my disk. I looked on Sims 3's site. Their stupid help section doesn't seem to work.

Have you actually contacted EA about this though?

I tried their help section, it requires you to log in and wont accept a username or password.

You misunderstand me. Chaavik and I aren't talking about posting in the help section but contacting EA Support directly.

By phone. There should be a phone number for the area you live in to contact for help.

Most of us aren't tech savvy about these sort of problems with computers and games, but what solutions we find, we do remember to point the users to if we can.

They would just say get a new disk or restore the computer.

That's assuming a lot. Unless you've suddenly gotten the gift of being able to tell the future, then the only way you will ever know for certain is to just call. The worst that can happen is you'll be right and they'll tell you to get a new disk.

You're other choice, at this point, since we don't know how to fix this, is to just live with the problem, right?

Again, all we suggest is for you to call. If you're not willing to call, then I guess you're stuck.

Or

Manually Uninstalling the Sims 3 (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=22226&p_created=1243972659&p_sid=o5hhP2Fj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=14051&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NDYsNDYmcF9wcm9kcz03LDY2ODYsNjYyMiZwX2NhdHM9NTY2LDcxOSZwX3B2PTMuNjYyMiZwX2N2PTEuNTY2OzIuNzE5JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1)

That's the best suggestion I can offer you. If it doesn't work, you'll have to call them.

I've already remove all the files, the folders and everything. The base file - The Sims 3 - itself will not uninstall. When I try it gives me that error, in which I posted on here to see if anyone could help, other then saying contact customer support. I guess not.

Did you follow the instructions in the link I posted? This shows you how to uninstall the game without going through Add/Remove Program's in the Control Panel. If you do it manually, you should avoid the above error.

There are no files left to uninstall. Its just the client that wont.

So if there are no files left to uninstall, then why ask for help with uninstalling?

Beacause the game is still there. It wont allow me to uninstall it or reinstall it.

Why do I have the urge to ask "Who's on first?"

OK. Answer my question with a yes or a no. Did you follow the instructions in the link I gave you?

I wouldnt be here asking for help if I got it to uninstall now would I? Yes, the entire freaking FOLDER IS GONE. How Many Times Do I have To Say It.

OK back up the truck and calm down. We're trying to help you and you're not making it easy. I'm asking if you followed the instructions in the link and you say "the folder is gone". That just tells me the folder is gone, not if you followed the instructions in the link. Obviously, just giving me a yes or no answer is difficult.

Both Chaavik and I suggested you call EA support, telling you they would be able to you help you with this particular problem better than we could here, but you refuse because you think you know what they'll say.

Guess your stuck.

Good luck because I'm locking this.

ETA: If the game is still there, then obviously there are folders you haven't removed. I will suggest one more time to go through the instructions on the page I linked to, because there are files hidden in the registry that need removing too, or call EA Support.
