A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: What are you currently doing (besides being here)?

There's pot roast: cheapest cut of meat you can find, seared in a big pot, potatoes and carrots and onions, optionally other root veggies, packet of soup mix or your choice of herbs, some water. Just don't let it cook dry, then thicken the broth for gravy. Stew, same ingredients, same general process. Lots of recipes and ideas: http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/Publications/FoodPlans/MiscPubs/FoodPlansRecipeBook.pdfSurfing for menu ideas for Katie.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: memories/can't get rid of fears

There's two parts to relationships. There's the neighborhood relationship table and then the relationship flags and values that are part of the Sim. Since the premade Sims were at least partially hand built, the two parts may not be perfectly in sync. Just another stupid but true Maxis thing. If you played the game at all, even just opening and closing, between installing OFB and applying the patch, it's quite likely that the data files for the Sims did not get updated. Anyhow, this explains why you're seeing Denise and her dead husband as both married and unmarried. You need to track down both parts of the relationship with SimPE and "unmarry" them.
BTW, you can rename your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder to something else, like The Sims 2 good, let the game regenerate the folder and look at Denise's original data. When you're finished, delete the new folder and change the name of the original folder back.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Employees faces change to face one when assigning uniform?

1) EA programmers are the kings of non-deterministic software, meaning the game acts differently on different computers and differently on the same computers at different times. The word "glitchy" comes to mind. 2) It can happen with no CC, including no hacks. It ain't a hack conflict. It's something in the way EA coded either the uniform selection dialog or the addition of the uniform with the Sim or the lot or the "arrive at work/put on uniform" module. 3) If it's in the compiled code included in the executable, no mod can fix it. Guess where the dialogs like the uniform selection dialog live? Mods can only work on BHAVs and BCONs and the other components of global and semi-global routines and objects.
Bright idea: Does this happen if you play the business for multiple days without saving or returning home and the employee leaves and returns to the business? This is to eliminate any errors introduced by the physical save to disk.
