1966  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / This is what's wrong with TS2 IMO. on: October 31, 2007, 08:42:06 am
You hit the issue right on the nail, Beosboxboy with a very well-written post about the problems most of us encountered upon buying these EPs and installing them.

I didn't start playing TS2 until about 2 or 3, maybe 4, months after the base game was released because at the time, I was having a blast with TS1.

Until Maxis or whatever they're called now can prove they have people with intelligence and two opposable thumbs can do a better job on the future EPs for TS2 and maybe TS3, I will reconsider. I don't know why Maxis allowed such a craptastic EP, Bon Voyage, to be released in a pathetic state with lots of bugs and incompatibility issues to the public. They obviously didn't have a good QA team for BV..

At least they didn't screw up Sims 2 Castaway for PS2..
1967  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / My Rant About EAxis and Teens on: October 31, 2007, 08:22:34 am
Which is a reason I'm very thankful for the helpful individuals who took the time to write great tutorials on recoloring the clothes or create better clothes for us who aren't as adept with mesh programs. I don't bother using very many Maxis clothes after I discovered the wonderful world of clothes made by fansleelamb(sp? - my bad) and numerous others who made my sims' lives better! Smiley

It's a shame we can't create CC for Sims 2 Castaway, but hey my Sims can wear their b-ball caps backward....
1968  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Stories / Midnight: A Vampire's Tale (Part 2 UP) on: October 31, 2007, 02:08:58 am
Wow, this is a fantastic story. Who cares if a poster rated the story as a 2. I am looking forward to the next update and bookmarking this for my future reading Wink

Glad to see another BloodRayne fan out here in the crowd. Smiley
1969  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / My Rant About EAxis and Teens on: October 29, 2007, 02:28:37 am
Not only do teens get shafted fashion-wise. Adults got almost the same kind of consideration when it comes to Maxis making these fubar clothes for both sexes. I seriously doubt we will ever get to see decent clothes straight from Maxis..

Even the sims in Sims 2 Castaway for PS2 get stuck with a small selection of fubar'ed Maxis clothes Sad
1970  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Don't have a downloads folder on: October 25, 2007, 12:00:00 am
Basically, you can create a Downloads folder yourself, -BUT- the folder must be in the exact location as shown below (or you won't be able to use the custom content in the Downloads folder):

C:\Documents and Settings\Linuxgoddess\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

If you already have a Downloads folder in the location as shown above, then no you don't need to create a new Downloads folder. Otherwise, if the Downloads folder is not in that exact location, then you can create one. Keep in mind that the Downloads folder must have a capital D.
1971  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / This game is kinda boring :( on: October 02, 2007, 09:57:45 am
When I bought Bon Voyage, I found it as nothing new from the original Vacation exp pack for Sims 1 with maybe one or two new features - owning vacation homes and walking to other lots right away without having to wait for a taxi.

I was a little disappointed that they forgot to put some real stuff into BV like clam bakes, lauau (sp?) buffets, volcanoes (yes, that would be fun seeing it in the neighborhood) to name a few to give each vacation destination that unique cultural feeling..

With all these expansion packs they rolled out so far, I was hoping that the next one would bring what the game lacked sorely for kids - playground sets, treehouses, stuff for KIDS. Yeah, fun stuff for children instead of some dinky little toyboxes, remote controlled toys, dollhouses, stuffed toys and swing sets....
1972  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / EP 6 ~ Per Request No Autonomous Sea Chanty on: October 01, 2007, 08:02:32 pm
It should be extracted to this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\****\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

**** would be the name of your user or admin account.
1973  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / INDEX OF MODS/HACKS on: September 29, 2007, 06:49:12 pm
Any file you see on that site hosting Squinge's mods that contains "EP*" will be the file for a certain pack. For example, EP5 is Seasons if you have Seasons.

But keep in mind if you do download anything from there, use them at your own risk if you know they still work for Bon Voyage.
1974  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Talk To Many (Plants and Trees) << UPDATED 03/30/2007 << on: September 29, 2007, 06:43:48 pm
This mod does work with Bon Voyage very well. I have this one as well as other Monique's mods for the gardens and trees.
1975  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Per Request No Autonomous Pillow Fighting ~ EP 2 or higher required on: September 28, 2007, 02:29:30 am
Thank you for this mod. I was driven up the wall by these silly pillow fights left and right everywhere.

Unfortunately, Squinge's mods are discontinued since he no longer update or make new mods for later expansion packs like BV. Use them at risk if you know they will still work for BV. I most likely will replace whatever mod he made with newer and updated versions personally.
1976  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / EP 6 ~ Per Request No Autonomous Gestures on: September 28, 2007, 02:20:46 am
I noticed an issue with noautonomousgestures that needed to be looked at. My two sims were meeting strangers with gestures like crazy in Three Lakes. The Chest Pound gesture icon keeps popping up in both of my sims' queues. The only way I could stop them completely is to cancel their gesture icons.

I wasn't sure about the other two vacation destinations because I loaded only one - Three Lakes - and associated it with my normal neighborhood. I wondered if this mod is effective only in the normal neighborhood or is supposed to be effective in both normal and vacation 'hoods.

Thought I would stop in to give feedback on the mod and to thank you for the mods you made for BV, Kathy.
1977  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / EP6 No unneeded NPC's respawn. on: September 28, 2007, 02:15:08 am
Thank you for those two mods. I liked them alot!

There is one to make that happen.  Look here at Inteenimater to find the right version for your latest expansion pack.  Read the instructions first!

Do you mean Merola64's Painting? That's the only painting I could think of that matches what you're looking for. There are several areas on the painting you can use to adjust the sim's needs, aspiration and so forth.
1980  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: August 25, 2007, 03:51:51 pm
I would love to have Sims of different heights and sizes to give a touch of realism to the communities instead of looking at my adult Sims of the same height every time. Sure, I would love to have teens who are taller than their parents and would love to have Sims who are skinny, average, athletic or plus-size without using mods and cheats.

Oh, on my list of most wanted stuff I'd like to see in both Sims 2 and 3.. STUFF for children! Playgrounds, not some dinky little swingsets! More toys, bicycles, tree forts, little play houses. That kind of stuff kids do these days in reality... I was very disappointed that Maxis didn't think much about the poor Sims 2 children.
