Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Downtown Giving

I just realized that I can't upload here because the file is too big. You can either download this lot at my site here: http://www.vjdevelopment.com/viewlot.php?hid=12213900 or download it directly from here: Downtown Giving Furnished.zipIn honor of my little girl's 1st birthday, and this major milestone in our lives, I made you all a little present! This is an addition to the Downtown Living series, but not exactly in that style. Let's pretend that our sims were rich and tore down one of the old boorish houses and rebuilt from the ground up. It's really cute and easily played. Trust me, I fell in love with it from the moment my sim walked in. Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Downtown Living Lot Template
|
on: April 01, 2008, 12:04:18 am
|
Hi All,
I've had a few requests for a Downtown Living template so I'm uploading here in hopes that we see many more downtown lots to add to our neighborhoods!
This is just the standard lot that I start out with. You can add to it or take away, just remember not to build the actual house to the sidewalk. Don't place gates next to the sidewalk, either or you'll block the portal.
Have fun and when you upload your lots, pm me so I can link you on my site!

CC - backwards garage door...can't find it at MTS2 right now, but that's where I got it.

Hi All, This is the terrain I made to go with my City Living series of lots. This is small and flat for those that like to play that way. Again, there is nothing special except that my lots fit perfectly and create an urban feel. Enjoy! VJ Visit the link in my sig or my uploads here to find the lots.

Hello All, This is a small, flat terrain I made to go along with my Downtown Living series of homes (some of which can be found on this site). There is nothing special about it, except that my lots fit perfectly into the spaces and it looks very uban and downtown-ish. Hope you enjoy and create something great! Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) by VJ Development

* I recently installed H&M Stuff, let me know if there is a problem if you don't have it. * If you can, please consider donating to my site. Due to an unexpected expense, I don't have enough extra cash to pay the bill this month. * As usual, FURNISHED version is at my site. EP's RequiredAll, no SP's FeaturesUNFURNISHED Chicago's EducationThe University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a state-supported public research university. It is a member of the University of Illinois system and is the largest university in the Chicago area with 25,000 students and 15 colleges, including the nation's largest medical school. Annual research expenditures exceed $290 million. This lot includes:Main Building2 Dining Halls Several Classrooms Music Room Library Computer Room Student Union Medical CenterGeneral Doctor Classroom Dentistry Classroom Optometry Classroom Art CenterArt Classroom There is plenty for your sims to do on this lot. If you have Pescado's Comm Lot Skilling hack, it's even better. The lot runs fine on my laptop, but if you have a slow machine, this lot is probably better for decoration only. Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / Downtown Community - 59th and Kedzie by VJ Development

*Unfurnished, for the furnished version, visit my site. Required EP'sAll, no SP's FeaturesPrice: About 150.000 Lot Size: 3x1 Floors: 3 Beds: 1 Baths: 2 Businesses: 3 Apartment: 1 I have no clue how to actually run this business. I'm not sure how I want to use this lot, either. In my test hood, however, I just had a random sim buy the lot. I made him hire the necessary employees and then sent him home. I took another family there to make sure everything was functional and worked. It's good and I'm probably going to play it like that in my main hood. I can't multi-task to that level when I try to run a business, I won't even try. Small Businesses of Chicago's Southwest SideOk, I forgot to rename the lot when I was finished building. 2 of the little shops were located on 59th and Kedzie. I used to love going here in my youth. At Nicky's you can order anything from a "Chicago Dog" to some chili. Good eats! Mitz has been closed down for years. She was a tiny shop that sold the BEST dollhouse furniture ever. She probably sold other things, but being a child with a dollhouse, I never noticed. She also served tea to her patrons while they were browsing which is why I chose to honor her with a little tea shop in my game. Red 7 Salon is a fancy salon downtown. They are new and I've never been. I found them online and love the homey feel of the place. Classic luxury, I love it. They needed to be part of this lot. ETA: I didn't take pictures of the apartment because I was getting pissed about my crappy graphics. I think I need to get rid of some CC again... Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / Downtown Community - The Cupboard by VJ Development

*This is the unfurnished version. For the furnished version, visit my site. Required EP'sAll, no SP's Features*This is a COMMUNITY lot made to look partially residential* Price: Around 45.000 Size: 1x2 Floors: 3 Beds: 1 Baths: 2 This is a small grocer comm lot. It includes a small business on the ground floor and an apartment-like place above. This is a good relaxation point for employees and for those of you with Squinge's sleep on comm lots hack, your sims can live there for a few days or forever. The apartment is decorated to look like an art student lives there (since UIC is across the street in my hood). I got the business up to level 5, but couldn't get it any further. I am not awesome... Chicago's Small RetailersThe Cupboard is a corner store I used to frequent after school. It's a store, much like a 7-11, where you can pick up snacks and magazines. I liked these types of stores because it was sometimes a congregation point for the whole neighborhood. The store owner definitely new everyone and always watched over us kids. He also used to give us free ice cream on blazing summer days and defended us to the police when we opened the fire hydrants. With the introduction of large business chains, like Walmart, most corner stores have gone out of business. It's a shame because corner stores were the foundation of neighborhoods in Chicago and other big cities. Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Downtown Community - Mario's Italian Lemonade Stand by VJ Development

This is the UNFURNISHED version. For the furnished version, visit my site: VJ DevelopmentEP's RequiredAll, no SP's FeaturesResidential Business Lot Size: 2x2 Price: 134.405 Floors: 2 Beds: 2 Baths: 1 Special Features: Rooftop Garden, Parking in Rear *A hack was packaged with it. Use the clean installer to remove it.*This is a home business. There is a house on one side, business on the other. Chicago's Flavor:Mario's Italian Lemonade Stand Even after all the years I haven't lived in Chicago, there is one place that I always think of as summer draws near. Taylor Street. Welcome to Little Italy and Italian Ice. The place and the tasty treat go hand-in-hand, I've known them since I was an infant. I remember how excited I used to get when my mom took my sister and I down to Taylor St. to get some Italian Ice. We'd stand in a very long line, get our favorite flavors, and sit on somebody's stoop to enjoy it. Once in a while, an old lady would stick her head out of her window and scream at us in Italian to get off her stoop or grass. What I loved most about it was that there were so many people from so many different neighborhoods all there to enjoy that summertime treat. Mario's isn't the place we used to go...that place closed down, but I hear Mario's is the new best. So if you're ever near the UIC campus, check them out. P.S. Mario's will look nothing like this lot. Expect dilapidated. Italian Ice in Chicago is different from other places like New York and Pennsylvania. In Chicago, a similar Italian summer refresher is called Italian lemonade or ice. It's typically made by mixing crushed or chopped fruit and/or flavoring with a frozen lemon slush made from fresh lemon juice, sugar and water. In most cases, the base is lemon, even when other flavors, such as watermelon, cantaloupe, raspberry coconut and even chocolate are added. EP's RequiredAll, no SP's Features3 Floors 3 Bedrooms 2 Bathrooms Landscaped Garage Living Room Master Bathroom Master Bedroom These 1x2 lots are really small. I tried to make it as comfortable as possible, but I think your sims will be a little cramped. I suggest using these for singles or as space fillers in your neighborhood. The garage is too small for a car. There is a parking slab in the front. The taxi and school bus will still come, but if you don't want it there, just delete it. Sorry that I'm sending you elsewhere for links. It's just that with a newborn and life, uploading can be quite time consuming. I'm just trying to shorten it. EP's RequiredAll...no SP's Features3 Floors 3 Bedrooms 2 Bathrooms Security System Landscaped Furnished Garage Living Room Master Bedroom This house has the same Chicago look as Downtown Living III, but has a whole different floor plan. It's much more spacious, there is plenty of room for a medium sized family. The house is semi-furnished. I furnished and decorated the 1st floor (living room and kitchen). *NOTE: If you didn't get Jonesi's modular stair script before, you will need it now. NOTE 2: I had some decorating mishaps in this one. One is that the slot package for tables turns visible when you exit and re-enter the lot. You can delete those if you like. Another thing...the microwave in the kitchen is a real microwave, not deco as I thought. You'll have to move or delete it. I also forgot to leave the counter space open. You should delete the juicer thingy. Required MeshesVisible Ceiling Tiles Version 3.0 by jgwhiteusWell, as you may know, I build houses for the game. I take fancy, decorative pictures to try and make the lot look as real as possible. I use ceiling tiles by jgwhiteus. They are great, but after seeing every single house with the same ceiling, it got pretty drab and boring. Not to mention that sometimes the colors don't match... So, I decided to do some flavorful recolors: White Tiles Burgundy Tiles Stucco White Wood Fancy Tiles White Fancy Tiles Other Colors Plain Tiles White Plain Tiles Blue Hope you builders, movie makes, and storytellers can find some use for these...
