Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Can't leave home! Help!

I had this problem too when I first loaded bon voyage. My sims could walk places but not take taxis or tours. As we had three users on my computer and neither of the others played sims, I ran the game from my husband's account with no hacks and no custom content at all and it still did the same thing, so not sure if it is a hack that is causing this. My problem only resolved with a new laptop with better video card etc. The new machine gives me the odd hang up problem, usually with a message about vista incompatibility, but as that came with the machine, I'm stuck with that.

I thought I had backed everything up. Apparantly only got part of my downloads, so I have lost loads. Still hunting for the lovely lemon house on a high cliff I downloaded and having finally sorted out my floating head problem it is back and I can't remember what download fixed it, so you have my sympathy.

Hi Tomkat, you didn't think you would use the massage tables, but they are one of the things I like. Ok, so I'm an aromatherapist. Don't like the restrictions on who seems to be get a massage, though. For example I massaged my son when he had colic and when he was in pain from an illness when he was young. Also, after watching the extent of the massages and the technique - that's not much of a swedish massage - I think that they are way overpriced!

I've got to say that after everything I have gone through to get this damn ep to work, I haven't found it as good as I'd hoped. Sent one of my couples on a romantic weekend with the intention of getting them wed in a romantic setting, for example. Didn't work out. beach front, camp fire, nice accomodation and guess what? No option to get wed. Had a honeymoon with no wedding. Still, after attempts to rectify issues with driver downloads, defragging disks, unloading and reloading I now have all my issues apparantly solved. How? Well, hubbie wanted a laptop for his new college courses and my two year old Evesham is a very well spec'd machine that more than meets his needs, so for three hundred pounds more than his budget I have got myself a lovely new one with a Ge8800 graphics card and 320 gig of memory. Only thing I'm unsure about is that it runs on Vista, which is fine except that the SimsPack downloads install very slowly and have a tendency to hang up. Thanks to everyone in this site who helped me and gave me advice. With all this I'm actually starting to get a bit computer literate. I love my new laptop. Oops. Geasy fingers. Where's that duster?:happy8:

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / ITS NOT WORTH IT!

As someone who has never played computer games until five months ago when a friend got me into SIMs, I don't understand most of the talk about hacks etc. Bugs I know about. (Those things they stomp on... just kidding). All I know is that I have all of the other games and the only time I had a problem was with a scratched disk. However, I am having a few problems with this one. A posting on this site was a big help in showing me what was wrong with my downloads. (OH!!! the file needs a CAPITAL 'D'), but things are still not running well. Jagged lines splitting the screen, 'vapor trails' following my sims around and bodies going one way while heads go another. Very weird. I'm going to keep trying and learning from the clever folk on this site. Thanks for the tips and help I've had already by the way.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / missing downloads

reading lots of people having problems with furniture and decoration downloads since loading BV. I'm having the opposite problem. Furniture is fine and everything else seemed ok then I had a lot of scalped, bodyless, makeupless faces floating around the game. Now hair, makeup and clothing downloads just don't show at all if I try to create or change appearance on a Sim. Seriously considering giving up on Bon Voyage.:smt120

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Bon Voyage

I loaded Bon Voyage and it caused my game to behave very oddly. The screen started splitting, jagged lines appearing across the picture and then sites hung up altogether. Dodgy disc. maybe? Uninstalling undid everything I have done for the last five months, since I started playing sims. I have a replacement copy now. I imagine people who play a lot of games probably make backups, but I've learned the hard way to do this before adding anything new.: :sad4:
