Maybe I missed something while reading throught this thread... I hope not, but will this just work at home to refresh pets motives only... no one elses? Because when I send my pet to work, she is exhausted from staying up all night getting her chew on... and so when she gets home, she collapes from it and then my sim can't teach her a new command so she can get promoted. Maybe that is more info than you need... but I wanted to explain. Thanks much! You are awesome!

Well, I'm still hoping it's a CC conflict... or something like that... at least it better be... I just spent all day deleting stuff using CI... looking at one dimensional pics (if they had pics at all) and trying to figure out if I used that item at all... over all, I deleted over 2500 things... and have just over 3000 left... so if anything, I'm hoping my game will be a little faster without all that stuff junking it up :lol

Fantastic! Then that means its gone!!

I download to a folder, but after installation I delete the zipped file. After I am done deleting unwanted CC, then I'll make another backup, so I don't lose the files I really do like and use.

Thanks!

There seems to be a different answer to this problem for each person/system.

At the moment I am using Clean Installer to get rid of a bunch of CC that I have, but never use. There really is no point in having it... right? I'm keeping only the stuff I use on a regular basis. And hoping it'll help... a little bit. At least with speed and whatnot.

Oh and I have never been able to have 20 people on a lot and have my game just go screaming fast, that only happens right after I install it and any Exp. packs, with no CC....

I'm going to be getting some new hardware too, as soon as I get my tax return... in a couple weeks. I can't wait! I hope this helps too!!!

When you delete CC using Clean Installer, does it also remove it from your system? Or is that file lurking around somewhere, waiting for you to reinstall the game, and the CC... then WHAM! It shows up again??

Still having the same problem... question... if you remove a package in the Clean Installer, does it delete it from your computer?? Because I am going through and getting rid of a lot of stuff... I have a ton of it, and most of it I just don't use... so... what's the point? So, it's going bye bye... the reason I was wondering if it also deleted it from the computer was because if I ever have to reinstall the games, then the CC, I don't want all that stuff I never use coming back to haunt me....

Thank you very much for this. I always turn everything off that I can before I load the game, and I disconnect from the internet... so I can turn my firewall and antivirus stuff off.
I don't know anything about my power supply, but my hubby did say it was more than powerful enough. And if I am not happy about something with my computer or games, well, his life is a misery... like now... LOL
I've been thinking that it is just VERY bad CC... and once I narrow it down... when I have time... everything should be fine.
I was just playing not five minutes ago... everything was fine, been playing for 5 hours... then WHAM! Not bsod... but a totally black screen... as if my moniter was off... with my little green power light blinking... I had to restart my whole system. Because nothing else I could think of worked and hubby is not home atm... *sigh*
I'm off... I'm gonna see if I can  get some more time in before something bad happens... I still haven't sated my Sims2 craving.

Thanks again!

That's not my problem, or at least, not the reason I am getting a blue screen. I haven't updated my drivers. My game had no problems until I installed Pets. And I have a GeForce 6200 NV44.

I have an Nvidia something or other... it was brand new... *rolls eyes*... but I bought it just so I could play the sequel to The Longest Journey... I can't remember the name, but it did need a brand new and much better vid card. So I know my vid isn't the problem... I don't think my RAM is either.... I've got lots of that too....

Well, because of this problem, I never play anymore Sad

My hubby is an expert with comps, but he doesn't play Sims2... so he has no idea whats wrong... I'm still getting the BSOD too... so now I hardly ever play Sad

I've got all updated drivers for my video card already. That is one of the first things I do.

Ok... so my game is still doing it. I have the updated insim installed, plus Bodyshop, Mesh, Recolor and Buy folders in the Download folders... I don't think I am ever going to figure this out. Figures that I would have an unsolvable problem :x

Rogue, I didn't mean to post the same thing twice, I mentioned the problem at different times, just in passing, in another thread, and both of them got moved here, into their own topics... So, I didn't really start them myself.

And I know it's not my video card... that's brand new... and a really expensive one too... I don't know if my motherboard can hold more RAM though... I'll have to ask my hubby... he is the comp genius. But he doesn't play Sims2... normally I don't have a problem fixing whatever is wrong with it myself.... I even help my mom with hers... but once in a blue screen tongue I need help :lol

Only my game turns off... all of a sudden... not my comp. And I never have any background tasks or other things going on while I am playing. I let my comp concentrate just on Sims2, so it'll run good... but that doesn't seem to be happening Sad
