well I checked my memory and it shows that I have 76.26GB of freespace which isn't a lot I don't think so I went and uninstalled OFB since I don't really use it that much so I only have Sims 2 DD, Seasons, AL, Ikea, Celebrations but atleast my game is running smoother now -scoffs- I know I'm going to delete that lot but I wanted a tower block like that so maybe 10-15 sims could live in the building you know like a 'real' apartment lol, anyone know of a lot like that won't slow my game down so much please let me know but you have to admit that lot was lovely -sigh-

Thats one thing that came to mind about the card not having enough memory so I guess I will be deleting the lot I mean If I 'managed' (as lazy and impatient I am) to actually furnish all 18 units and move sims in including my playable sim, I couldn't imagine how damn slow my game would go even running on no CC in the building more than likely my harddrive would implode or explode what have you with the amount of stress it was under thanks for your input by the way

Ew look how fake and cartoonish those screenshots look? It's sad that the only screenie that looks somewhat realistic is the sim in the purple go-go boots if the game looks like that when I get it it will be going right back to the store for a refund! that is just sickingly dissapointing if the sims look like that, I mean look at the child in the rainboots [WTF?] They look sims from TS1!

Let me just yell something really quick before I give my opinion on TS3? -ahem- JUNE 2?! WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING OUT FEB 20! sorry okay I must have missed something because I had no idea they pushed the release date does anyone know why? I am pretty upset now. . . I was really looking forward to getting TS3 for my birthday next month so anyway here's my view I am very pessimistic about the game because like others have stated I more than likely will not be able to stand the game without the aid of CC and the default sims look very dissapointing in my opinion very unrealistic and cartoonish but maybe EA has noticed this and there trying to improve them but I doubt it and also I really don't think my computer will be able to handle TS3 and there is NO WAY in hell I am going to uninstall all my TS2 games and downloads and whatnot and risk messing up on my backup and lose all my games and families just to SEE if maybe without all that available space my computer can run the game NAH UH but I have to admit I am really excited about the seamless neighborhood and the aging process BUT if for some reason those idiots at EA make the game where no CC can be made for the game, well I'm sorry Maxis but you my friends will be loosing alot of money I thank you

I think I have myself a problem and I am hoping you guys can shed some light on it so I can see what to do about it okay here we go I downloaded an apartment building last night from TSR that I fell in love with it's like 5 stories high and has 18 rooms with the last room on top being a penthouse suite that rents out for around 8,000$ and needless to say looking at the lot there is ALOT of detail first off the whole lot is already furnished so it really lags my machine down to be able to draw everything and put it all in one screen so what happened was I was working on one of the rooms and a windows error message pops up saying "Your computer is low on virtual memory, Windows is increasing your paging file so some application and programs may not function momentarily" something of that nature well I didn't think anything about it because my computer always does that because I really need some more RAM so anyway when I thought it was done because the little yellow exclamation mark had gone off my toolbar I clicked my Sims2 Apartment Life toolbar and my game just froze and a Sims2 error message came up that said "Sims2 Apartment Life has experienced an enternal error in the Graphics Adapter and will now terminate" something like that what could this be? do you all think the lot was just to much on my computer because I checked my system and my computer shows my graphics card is doing fine?

I am so glad you brought that point up because whenever I would build or try to move into an apartment the AL mailbox wouldn't show up it would just be the base game mailbox and I was like what the crap? and then I seen where someone had said there was some kind of conflict with mailboxes that had been extracted from the game and be able to be buyable from the catalog and of-course I must have downloaded a lot that had an extracted mailbox packaged along with it I thought I had found it because I deleted the mailbox from the catalog and it seemed to be working right again and now its happening again so ergh I'm going to have to go digging through my downloads folder and track the other mailbox down now because I know for a fact that the other night I downloaded a apartment lot from TSR and the person packaged a mailbox along with it so here I go off to find that stupid thing because clean installer picked up like 4 versions of it but they were recolors I do believe. . .

Yeah I know and it kills me see some of them because I have crappy dial-up on my computer and I really want some of them but it takes like oh I'd say about 3 hours for me to download a 8-10mb anything lmao but you are welcome for the link to all those who have a better connection than I do haha

yes, exactly love and also about the mailbox thing I deleted my mailbox that was extracted within the game and was uploaded unknowingly with one of my lots I downloaded from the exchange to see if maybe now my AL mailbox would appear on apt lots do you think that was my problem because I haven't had time to see for my-self because I have worked on my Cul-De-Sac all day today and just now got off the game lol

Okay well this might have already been asked but I haven't seen it so I'll ask here okay say I download an apartment lot and I make a sim that I want in one apartment and then I decide well maybe I want my cute sim I just made to have an equally sexy neighbor would I just exit and save before any other default sims move into the lot or could I let the apartments fill up make my new sim and move them in would one of the sims move out and let the other sim move into their place much like how students do for other students in dorms in Uni? I mean I don't understand how to have many different sims that I make that aren't fugly maxis ones living in my apartment lots or did I just dream that up in my head and they really can't do all of the above because to my understanding it says in the manual that came with AL that you can control multiple households, but what if I don't want to play Michelle Tse's house or Brian Ruescwhick's house lol could someone shed some light on this for me if you get what I'm saying at all?

In response to what Madi and Ali said I too have the mailbox not showing on Apt. Lots is it because I have recolors of the maxis mailbox because they don't even look like recolors to me they look like flippin' duplicates or something like clones of the same mailbox if that makes any sense should I delete any duplicates of the mailbox and just leave the mailbox with no other color options and then will my Apt Lot Mailbox show on Apt. Lots because I was confused why my mailbox wasn't changing when I moved new sims in?

Hey Squinge and Celestra sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys on this post but I have been sick with strep throat for about a week now but I'm feeling a bit better and thought I would get on the internet for a bit because its sooo boring lying in the bed all the time >_< but about the hack I didn't know that the sims living in the other apartments just stood there like idiots and didn't do anything thats so dumb why would maxis make such a stupid move? I guess there really is no use for the hack afterall but thats not your fault but the always annoying EA thank you for considering making it for me though!

I forgot to mention something in my other post, I figured that re-installing would help as well so we did that and when the installation got to 66% it just froze and you couldn't hear the tower making its roaring sound like it does when its doing something such as installing a game or whatever and then this error box popped up saying that a file was missing from a shortcut or something and it asked me if I wanted to ignore or abort so I said ignore and it went to 67% and just froze for about an hour and never even tried to install the rest of the way! wonder what was up with that?
