Title: Slower bladder decay New Version Available(5/07/06)
Post by: Squinge on May 06, 2006, 01:33:10 am
This mod slows down bladder decay for babies, toddlers, & elders the default was -500 per day I changed it to -200 per day.

no EP is required to use this mod.

* Important note: Your sims may be reset after installing this mod (i.e. if they were sleeping the last time you saved, they will be standing next to their bed, also to be safe, make sure no NPC (like maid or gardener for example) are on your lot and no Sims are at work before you install this.

Your welcome & please let me know if it works in your game after you have tried it, because I'm not sure if that gets set in more than one place:)

I'll test this, sure!

I had some discussions with Quaxi about this. He said the dacay values can be changed but the changes are effectively only until you don't leave the lot you are playing. He said also that the default values are restored by the game every time you enter a new lot or every time a sim you have previously changed appears as non-playable on another lot (for example passing-by or invited as visitor).

I found this while trying to do your other request, one thing I noticed is it gives young adults a motive boost if they are frat members, according to the code in these mods it set's their motives when they wake up & I also so another part that sets it when they are sleeping.

Yay, count me in for the test :)  This is one of the thing that annoys me the most about elders (that and the fact they wake-up in the middle of the night but I fixed that with your eldersleeplonger mod).  I don't have any pregnant sims, toddlers or babies in game right now so I cannot really try these but I will report for the elders part.

I can already do a report. Somehow, after adding the elders mod, all my Sims were standing up next to their beds (I always save when they are in bed). It kind of resetted something.

I did not save, quit the game, remove it, and the sims are back in bed.

Is there a way to make it so this won't happen?

edit:  The hack detection tool did not show any conflicts.  And I have all expansion packs but not the holiday or family fun pack.

Some times that will happen when a global function is changed, the same thing happens after installing a  patch.

I Love the idea of making babies selectable. (Never understood why maxis made them unselectable)... Many Thanks

I know what you mean, I like it because you can check their motives to see what they need, I have been trying to find a way of doing that for a while:)

Title: Updated Information about this mod(5/08/06)
Post by: Squinge on May 08, 2006, 04:19:19 am
I just realized something that I forgot to mention, you will notice with the elders if they have a job their bladder motive may not be decreased while working, the reason is all of the careers adjust their motives according to which job they have, this is by design of the game & not a bug with this mod, I would have to hack each career to stop that from happening.

For people that want to know.  The elder bladder one did reset my sims.  The pregnancy one did not.  Cannot tell about the baby or toddler one since I did not install them.

Both are working fine.  I have all the Ep but I don't have any of the 2 packs.

I've been using this very useful hack for several weeks now and it has made gameplay so much better, especially with the seniors and the infants!  Thank you Squinge!

Thank you so much for making these.  I used to have them in my game and after installing cc (not from here) that messed it up I completely uninstalled/reinstalled.  I didn't remember all my hacks at first, but now that several are pregnant, I remembered it.  This will save my sanity!

Does the bladder decay also come if you just download selectablebabies.  Because the little bugs that happen you say when you first download, quite scare me.

It's not a bug that is normal for sims to reset :) & no the selectable babies doesn't include slower bladder decay.

Hi Squinge,

Is there any conflict with your newer hack (3/20/2007), Expresso Less Bladder Decay?

And, does this version work with Pets and Seasons?

- Thanks!

:confused:I wonder if there's a way to change babies before they pum... Because what's the matter if you see them are about to pum & can't change them like we do with the toddlers...

You know...make a mess; crap their pants, and so on.

...just like you do on a nightly basis. Chaavik and Engram are getting tired of cleaning it up, y'know.:P

IRL, you can hold babies over the toilet or a potty chair or a bucket so they do their stuff there instead of in their pants.... however, that's a parental skill in realizing they have to go, not anything the baby controls much.

I downloaded the toddler and babies slower decay one and it says that it allows to make babies selectable, thus not works with selectable babies mod. I want for toddlers to need to pee less so I can't just download babies one. However this mod does not make babies selectable and when I got a new baby, it asked to select name the given one being not Baby Boy/Girl, but some random name and after I wrote my desired name, it did not save and instead my new baby was called Baby Boy (family name). Also, how do I stop the bed from pulsing in blue?

For the baby name, you need a mod like Insim or Simblender (or similar) to do a name change. For the blue-flashing item, it's probably a slaved object, so you need to find the master mesh (the object the flashing item draws its recolors from).
