16  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Restarting Neighbourhoods on: November 25, 2007, 09:52:24 pm
First time, worked great. Forgot to copy new Pleasantview folder. Second time trying to reset, the game didn't re-create Pleasantview! So now I have to put my original game back which is gonna take another half an hour. Any idea on why it didn't re-create the Pleasantview?

Aw, I think it's very cute so far.  Your pictures are all pretty good, as far as angles and closeups and such.  Do you have your graphics setting on high?  That might help.  Also turning off things you don't really need might help, too.  I keep shadows turned off on mine, because it tends to slow things down.

Reading other people's legacy stories really makes me want to do one, too.  I'm already halfway through my legacy, though, and haven't taken the proper pictures for a story, but maybe someday.  I love your founder's name, it flows so pretty.  I hope you decide to continue.

Thank you for the feedback. My settings is set to high, its just not a very good computer. :chainsaw:

This is my first InSim story, and my first time posting a legacy story. And hopefully this will be the first time I make it past the second generation (I have a short intention span...) I'm also NOT good at taking pictures. So sorry for A) the bad quality (blame the computer!) and B) the sucky pictures. But, please, bear with me.

The Skye Legacy:

All alone, with nothing but 20 000 simoleons scrounged from my savings. Here I am, the founder of the legacy. Aren't I pretty?
Name:Aphrodite Skye
Aspiration: Family
LTW: Have 6 grandchildren
Stats: Sloppy/Neat - 4
Shy/Outgoing - 7
Lazy/Active - 5
Serious/Playful - 3
Grouchy/Nice - 6

And here's my hou... shack. Small, huh?

I did what any good founder does. Studied some cooking... got a job...

First day on the job. Why not try politics?
(I quit for a better job in science the next day)

I met a really nice guy, but he's married. Why is everyone already married?

A few days have passed. Nothing too exciting, but I did meet a cute guy at the club.

I asked him to move in, and look at the stuff that was just in his INVENTORY!

Just over 10 000 simoleons, tons of inventory, and a great job that pays over 2 000 a day, he's a great catch. Asking him to move in was a great idea! This is our new house.

I just had to ask him to marry me. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else...

Look who got herself pregnant; Me! Looks like generation 2 is on it's way.

ATI Radeon X1250
Is that a good card?

Um... I don't know off-hand what the card is. (And I'm on my laptop right now so I can't check right now) but I can look into it and get back to you. Thanks for the advice.

So my family just bought a new computer and we installed Sims 2, Sims 2 Uni, Sims 2 NL and Sims 2 Pets. I tried playing and my sims were doing strange stuff. First; at some times they would be walking and all you'd see is  their head and then about ten sim-footsteps away there would be a stretched-out blurry image of the body. Second; whenever they used the bath tub, there would be a blurry line, the colour of the sims' skin, stretching out across the screen. Third; very often, there's a strange cone like a spotlight expanding from the sims with the same blurry, skin-coloured type 'blob'. And once the plumbob went straight up through the floor (controlled sim was on first floor, was viewing second floor) and it was about four times fatter than usual. I don't know what's wrong. We un-installed everything, re-installed it, and downloaded a Sims 2 Pets patch. It seemed to be working fine, and then I greeted the mailman (who suddenly had strange black 'spots') and then my sim 'exploded' into a blurry flesh-coloured line again. Anyone know what the problem is? In every other aspect, as far as I know, the game is running perfectly fine, faster even then I'm used to. Oh, and the weird lines and stuff happen more often in high speed (3) than regular (1) or medium (2).

Bravo! This is such a great story. I can't wait for the next part!

EDIT: Could you upload the houses, by any chance? They're really amazing.
25  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What Kind of Computer you run sims2 on? on: November 15, 2007, 07:07:09 pm
approx. Age of system = less that 1 year, probably about 6 months or so
CPU speed = 1.60 GHz
amount of memory = 958 MB
Video card = NVIDIA GeForce GO 6150
The computer is a personal laptop. Custom content works fine for the most part. There have been issues with stuff not showing up, not unzipping etc. but that has nothing to do with the computer per se. Game loads a little slower than usual, sometimes quite slow depending on amount of CC and wether it's compatible with EP's.
26  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Troubles with downloads not showing up... on: November 10, 2007, 02:01:43 pm
Rr... ok. I'm just a little nervous about downloading big things like InSim or SimPE but I suppose I could try. What all does the InSim do? (Sorry for asking, i suppose there's proabably a thread explaining around somewhere, just wanted a quick summary)
27  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is there a 'unlock aspiration rewards' cheat? on: November 10, 2007, 01:59:39 pm
I downloaded a buyable version of the aspiration rewards on MTS2, but i was just hoping that i wouldn't have to pay for it. Anwways, the regular aspiration rewards work fine. But the custom one i downloaded Phhh! This thread can be closed. Thank you.
28  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Troubles with downloads not showing up... on: November 08, 2007, 09:24:38 pm
As of late I've been having problems with downloaded content not showing up in game. Both of which have been things that turn your sim into a vampire, if that helps or changes things. Anyway everything i've downloaded and un-zipped have worked fine until today when both of the vampire things didn't show up. Is there something wrong with vampire-related objects? And does anyone know any reliable sources for turning sims into vampires without the time-consuming task of sweeping downtown for a vampire? I'd really like to turn one sim into a vampire for a story I have planned.
29  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is there a 'unlock aspiration rewards' cheat? on: November 08, 2007, 09:02:43 pm
As the title says, my question is: Is there a 'unlock aspiration rewards cheat'? Basically, a cheat like "boolprop unlockcareerrewards true" just it unlocks the aspiration rewards instead of career rewards. Is there a cheat? If not, could someone make possibly a hacked object that could unlock the rewards? Thanks in advance.
