31  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Grosse Point, fully furnished on: November 21, 2007, 08:45:19 am
Thank you lewisb! It was such a struggle to do the outside, and i'm not sure why. I'm happy with the way I did finish it and it ended up pretty simple. Good thing because the first time I finished it up, I'd inadvertently clicked on a terrain paint at some point and so the lot was borked and I had to redo it from a clean copy.

Enjoy! I didn't remember to test the massage table upstairs, so I hope it works against a wall like that.

You must download the Berkeley crib and changing table mesh and Dark Wood recolors from HopeB

I began this house shortly after Pets was released to showcase some of the new building tools such as diagonal rooms and individual roof slope. It's taken me this long to decorate it to my taste Smiley. It does have some custom content, though be assured, for every piece I used I did truly try to find a Maxis alternative, but there's only so far Maxis can go.

Expansions required: all - Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Seasons, BV
Lot: 2x2
Price: $125 K
Bedrooms: 2 +nursery
Bathrooms: 3
Other amenities: basement, driveway, ground floor nursery/bedroom, ready for pets.

I had to add a folder with the Maxis recolors into the .rar because Maxis packaging no longer picks them up. Please move the folder into your Downloads and install the house which has the rest of the CC.

A clone of this house has been playtested throughout the building process. All landscaping should be "gardenable." You can fit a few gardening plots in between the columns of the right side of the house (as you look at it). The trees in back can be replaced by orchard trees should you desire apples, lemons, and oranges. A door can be placed upstairs out to the balconey and using moveObjects on, a hot tub can be placed up there. The house was built to take advantage of the view available where its placed in my neighborhood (Lake Crossing). Feel free to replace the low border with more fence in the back courtyard if you don't have a spectacular view like my Sims do. My goal, as with all my houses, is that it's playable and good looking.

Great idea for a thread. Thanks to lewisb for uploading a house and linking to this thread or I'd never have found it! Everyone's rooms look so fantastic! I've never mastered the "clutter" thing and my houses reflect that (and so does my irl house -- I have no knick knacks, etc)

This is the fireplace/reading room in my first house I put up for download, Swanson House.

The next two are in Aurora Road, a master bedroom and the downstairs bath. It was my first try at a large bathroom with internal walls/shaping.

Exercise room in the Old Library

The music room in Walker House

And finally the kitchen/dining area in Grosse Point, which I can't seem to finish up.

This is a redo of a house I built for a contest at Sims2Community about 18 months ago. Copies of the house have been playtested extensively. All landscaping is gardenable and is minimal. Your sim or the gardener can easily keep up with the trimming. I've tried to place end or coffee tables where it would make sense to keep a Thinking Cap for skilling. I intentionally left some blank wall space so your sim can hang custom paintings. The music room has one of the new Bon Voyage shelfs for knick-knacks. My goal, as with all my houses, is that it's playable and good looking.

More pics available on my site here.

I needed a break from my maxis only houses, and so this house does have some custom content. However, I also have a version without custom content, if you really don't want CC.

Expansions required: all - Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Seasons, BV, no stuff packs
Lot: 3x3
Price: $160-162K
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 3
Other amenities: basement, driveway, swimming pool, hot tub, hot springs, fishable pond, music room, ground floor nursery/bedroom, fireplace, ready for pets.

Numenor's policy as listed on MTS2 does not allow redistribution of his meshes,  so you will need to go and download Maxis "Lost & Found" #26: Floral Centerpiece if you want the bouquet in the master bedroom to show up correctly. I considered replacing it, but I really like the look of this object in that room.

I had to add a folder with the Maxis recolors into the .rar because Maxis packaging no longer picks them up. Please move the folder into your Downloads and install the house which has the rest of the CC.

Edit: Ack! I changed wallpaper and repackaged and forgot to clean it. Cleaning it now. So sorry if anyone downloaded it!
Edit: I deleted and reattached the cleaned version. So sorry to all who downloaded the uncleaned version!

excellent! I couldn't believe it didn't work when I locked my fenced garden to keep the gardener away.
39  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Orange Flowery Recolor of Maxis Bed on: May 18, 2007, 08:53:08 am
Oddly enough, I've been looking around for some orangey beddings/bed for a particular room. This should be perfect! Thanks!

42  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / The Old Library - 3x1, fully furnished with maxis only items, $149k on: January 28, 2007, 10:40:01 am
Thank you everyone! No, I don't work with buildings. Though if I had unlimited simoleans to do what I'd like, that would be pretty fun Smiley
43  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / The Old Library - 3x1, fully furnished with maxis only items, $149k on: January 24, 2007, 09:54:49 pm

This lot started out as a self challenge to myself -- could I make a house I would be happy to play on a 3x1 lot? I then decided to see if I could make a house for under 20k, as if my sim were buying a fixer-upper, then remodeling and furnishing it. My plan would be my sims would buy it at 20k, work hard, then when they could afford the furnished version, they would have an extreme makeover (otherwise known as being moved to the bin, old house destroyed, new furnished house plopped down, and sims moved back in).

This house really packs it all in on this small lot. Master bedroom, child's room/nursery, 4 bathrooms, basement exercise room, driveway, meditation garden in the side yard. Fully furnished for pets: 2 food dishes, a scratching post, cat basket, dog house, cat's wall toy, a dog bone, a litter box and catnip.

House was playtested for several sim weeks, including with pets. Naughty cats can jump on all the chairs and all but the center couch cushion. Dog will chew his bone outside on the other side of the meditation pond, blocking no doorways. All landscaping is gardenable -- trimmable and waterable. Pets special fencing (flooring divider) was used in the child's room/nursery so that a crying baby will not wake up a child sleeping in the twin bed. Should you desire the person in the twin to awaken, simply remove the flooring divder.

Requires all the expansions, none of the Stuff packs because all Christmas items were free for download from the Sims website in December 2004

I rarely download full sims and I had to grab this one. She has such a distinctive and unique look, not just another cute pretty sim. I can't wait to see her in game.
