Hey All, I used to be a regular here on InSim as well as other simming sites! I think I might be returning to sims after a long break, and many chemistry courses in between!

I'm so glad to see the community is still going strong!

I waited a long time to get the sims 3, we found it on sale, thought it'd be cool to give it a shot...however, i can't say how disappointed i am. I'm not going to say there aren't any good new features, but there are a seriously lack of important old features! Maybe i haven't played the game enough, but has anyone else found themselves switching back to the sims 2?

I don't know about you all, but here is why i'm going to continue playing the sims 2, the sims 3 has:

*awkward user interface (why are motives last and unchangable characteristics first?)
*annoying story mode
*strange "mood" feature to replace "wants" and memories
*can't edit the neighborhood (WTH???)
* sims have no interests to talk about
*no fit/fat scale to tell if your sim is losing weight, you just have to watch it or use the command box...
*town has building as objects, you can't stroll in and browse or explore
*default cell phone, this is unrealistic and annoying
*limited facial modification parameters (why do i have to download a hack to make my sims look different?)

There's more, but i'll stop complaining.
But what do you guys think? Am i being nit picky? I just can't understand why they'd take away key features from the system. We'll see what expansion packs hold for the future i suppose...

I guess this a request for Bloom or anyone who knows how to add shoes to a mesh...

I don't know about you guys, but i've found many of my favorite sites for sims 2 content seem to have nearly stopped uploading sims 2 content, often in favor for sims 3...sites i used to check everyday and find something new and excited, i find that there are only one or two new posts.
I know maybe i'm expecting a little much, for enthusiasm for a 4+ year old game to be maintained, but i still am kinda sad.
Am i the only one who feels this way? or are most people thinking "ditch sims 2, sims 3 is more exciting"?

Is the sims 3 better now that there are mods? Is the sims 2 going to be forgotten so quickly?

Hey, here's another Rio dress, found on the torrid site. this one has a lot mor hand painting than the others i've posted.

Hi All, This is  Dress for the Rio Bodyshape. I found the dress on torrid and photoskinned it onto the mesh. this is my first photo skin in a few years... i hope you enjoy it!

OK. so i went into the game...repackaged the file...and simply pulled it directly from the PACKAGEDLOTS folder in the Sims 2 folder under documents.

IMPORTANT -->This should work. If you have Sims 2 Installable Package
when it says install...a window will appear after you click INSTALL... however, UNCHECK "DEFAULT INSTALLATION" and under "SELECT FILE EXTENSION" Select "package" instead of "Sim2tmp".
If this doesn't work, this thread will be deleted entirely.



This lot was used in my entries in the "Who Wants To Be A SuperHero" contest

This is a huge lot and will slow down your game if you do not have a very good graphics card.

It was made with all expansion packs, no stuff packs. It uses the biggest lot possible.

There are three skyscrapers, 1.5 alleyways (the .5 is uber small, the 1 is to the left). a club and misc. rooms. LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ISSUES DOWNLOADING/APPEARING IN GAME...cause then i might have to upload an empty version.

very expensive lot. is furnished.

I don't know about anyone else, but i cannot spawn the testing cheats in Seasons. I have all the expansions, it worked fine in pets, with all downloads. I've removed several hacks for seasons, so i don't think that has anything to do with it. I can get the [testingcheatsenabled true] pie menu, but i cannot execute any of the functions of the menu. Anyone have any suggestions?


Also, when i first installed Seasons, finally, my sims' accessories didn't flash blue when first entering a lot. After removing hacks taht were interferring with the game, the accessories began to flash blue again. My video card is Radeon 9600 and has the capability to run the game, however slowly, at the highest graphics settings it i so choose. (i have no problem with snow) Any advice? My accessories would flash blue in pets until i made them "change appearance" then they could have normal accessories... It's sad...i wanna use my awesome custom content accessories. please help!
