Title: My First story <3
Post by: Furious_Idea on June 18, 2007, 08:13:24 pm
Okay...so, almost No-one on this Forum knows me...BUT, I plan on changing this...

...By writing an absolutely Corny Angst!Fluff!Drama!Romance that will probably annoy the socks off everyone!! *evil laugh*

MWUAHAHAHAHA HAAA!!.....*cough*...erm...

...So, the prologue should be up by tonight; it only starts out with the first main character, Dane Hatcher.

.....You'll have to wait for his love-at-first-sight to wander in.....*giggle*

I hope someone reads it without laughing me off the forums!

PS---Random Opinion Question= Should this be in First person, with switching perspectives Between Dane and -----, or in third person ((he did this, she did that, etc...))...??? I really think First would work better with the pictures...but...

Something my writing instructor pounded into our heads when I was in school was, "Avoid doing anything to risk making your reader pause. Every pause creates the possiblity they'll just give up and stop reading." So having said this, unless you're exceptionally good at writing in first person, I would just stick to one point of view. Swapping from one person to the other when you're writing from the "I" standpoint can get confusing after a while, because your reader can easily lose track of who "I" is. If you want to switch your point of view character, then it's better (from a reader standpoint) to stick to third person.

Now...bring on the corn! :D

You're right; it DOES sound much better in Third person...

....I THINK....

*snort*

I got the prologue up and running; Poor Dane hates everything ((he's an emobox....))....

I'm so glad you chose to write in third person. I agree...I think it works better too.
