I'm wanting to write a series of short stories called, "The Mermaid Chronicles" but I need some ideas for the first short story.
 
Each story is going to be about a different family...I've already got the first family created, now I just need inspiration on what to make them do.

Chapter Eight
 
One night, when Justin and I had finished dinner, we were listening to the radio when my favorite song came on: “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.
 
And I'd give up forever to touch you,
Cause I know that you feel me somehow.
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be,
And I don't want to go home right now.
 
And all I can taste is this moment,
And all I can breathe is your life,
And sooner or later it's over,

Before I could do anything, Justin stood up and extended his hand to me. “Care to dance?” he asked.
 
Unable to resist, I took his hand and put my arms around his neck.
 
And I don't want the world to see me,

“This is how we do it where I’m from,” he said, pulling me closer.
 

 
I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder. I about melted to the ground when he began singing to me softly.

When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive…
 
I raised my head and pressed my lips to his.

When the song ended, he got down on one knee.
 

 
“Kimora, I fell in love with you when I first met you.” Then he pulled out a box.
 
“Will you marry me?”
 

 
“Oh!” Tears came to my eyes. “Yes, Justin, I will!”
 

 

 
Three months later, we were married. The wedding was beautiful.
 

Chapter Seven
 
~*~3 Weeks Later~*~
 
Katherine and I decided to invite Jason and Chasity for dinner. While Katherine and Chasity had become best friends, Jason had become my support, confidante, and my new love interest.
 

 
We were enjoying a nice dinner of spaghetti when Chasity suddenly put her fork down and threw a handful of spaghetti at Katherine.
 

 
Chasity and Katherine were so involved in their food fight, they didn’t see the grins breaking onto Jason and my face. I told them to calm down and go play.
 
The girls ran off to some other part of the house while Jason and I cleaned up.


 
“Thanks for dinner, but we have to get going,” Jason said. He called Chasity to him.
 
“I’ll walk you to the door.” As soon as we were at the door, he gazed into my eyes and brought a hand up to caress my cheek.
 

 
Then he kissed me softly on the lips.
 

 
When he pulled away, I was speechless and happy.
 
“See you later, Kimora,” he said as he and Chasity walked out the door.
 

 
I’m sorry this chapter was so short and boring, but I need more inspiration. I’ll post more when I think of more.
