Post by: DraculaBiscuits on January 17, 2009, 01:28:28 pm
I have bee experiencing some sort of problem with my game. My game does load and i can get onto the lots and play for about 30 minutes to an hour then it crashes and i get this message:
Direct3d Returned an error D3DERR_NOTAVALIABLE
This application will now terminate

I have no idea what this means or how to fix it

Strictly guesswork, but the error definately relates to your video hardware.

May be a glorked already installed item.

Try re-installing (or updating) your video driver.

Also re-install Direct X.

As it occurs after time spent gaming, it may be a matter of overheating. Cleaning dust from your machine and its fan (and making sure the fan is running) might help.

Ditto for carefully reseating the video card (if you have a video card). It might have worked slightly loose over time.

It also might be a sign of a video card which is in the process of failing.
