Title: Toddler 'stuck'
Post by: dineke on March 18, 2009, 04:18:03 pm
For some reason my toddler is stuck in the game. She can't be picked up and I can't give her commands to go to play and that sort of things. I used Make Selectable on an of but when she's selectable it's just for a short time....(). I also restart the family for 3 times but she keeps the same. HELP! ;)

Try opening the cheat box and type in moveobjects on, then go into buy mode, select the toddler and delete her. Next, don't panic. Exit to the neighborhood (yes, do save) and re enter the lot. You should find her sitting by the mailbox.

Have you tried pulling out any hacks and seeing if that fixes it? It could be a conflict.

No I haven''t tried that. It was a couple of days ago when it happened but I remember now that it happened after I used the boolprop cheat and forgot to set if off/false. the toddler was crawling towards the rabbit to play with it when the screen appears with something like a failure notice: reset/delete/.... that thing. Don't know anymore what I've chosen.......( :-\) Hope this thing can be fixed.

Having the testing cheats enabled was probably a good thing.  Go into the folder My Sims 2\Logs and find the Object Error file that is close to the date that you got that dialog box about the error.  Then attach it to a post here.  The Additional Options link contains the file attachment box.

When you have boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, you may also want to try clicking on the toddler and choose "force error".  This has helped me many many times when my sims get stuck.  When the error message comes up, click "reset".  I hope this helps!

The Force error didn't work either so here's the log

did you age her down to baby?

It seems like it, only she has a toddler body. I really don't know how I did it.... just the error. I tried to let her grow up again only they can't pick her up and a message appear with no bones or object identified....

too bad.  you could check to see if the child was flagged as a baby or toddler and change it with it. As far as I know, there is no other way to age a child that is a baby without another sim's help. Maybe someone else knows of some way.
