Title: object error and game crashing... Post by: MCRVamp on April 05, 2009, 05:59:25 pm Hope this is the right place for this...
Lately, my game keeps giving me an error (and also crashing for no reason). Here's the message I get (I've attached the .txt file it refers to) -- I tried looking at it myself, but I'm basically computer illiterate so I have no idea what I was looking at. (http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk132/mcrvamp08/objecterror.png) Could whatever be causing that error be making my game crash? It crashes at random times. IE: last time it crashed 3 times (before I just gave up on it). --- First Time: my sim just had triplets, I was using a hack to change their the infants outfits (baby changer -- I believe I got it off here..). --- Second Time: after losing the triplets when it crashed the first time, my sim had twins... this time the hack worked it let me change the clothes.. but when another sim tried feeding the baby I got the crash error. --- Last time: My sims was watching tv -- well the adults were.. my game froze a second and got the "This application has crashed. It will be terminated" message (or something along those lines). Title: Re: object error and game crashing... Post by: Engram on April 05, 2009, 08:06:26 pm Do you have a hack that affects visitors? Such as the Visitor Controller by Two Jeffs or one of the many mods that make walkbys happen more or less often? The error seems to have nothing to do with the baby but everything to do with processing a visitor to the lot. Try taking out any mods that affect visitors and see if the error occurs again.
Also try running the Hack Conflict Detection Utility from Paladin's Place (http://www.simwardrobe.com/) and see if you get any conflicts. It can be found under Sims 2 > Programs Title: Re: object error and game crashing... Post by: MCRVamp on April 07, 2009, 07:19:56 pm Thanks, that helped (I had one more walkby hack, turns out that was the problem and apparently the source of the random crashing -- since I removed the file, no more error or crashing).
Also, thanks for the link to the hack conflict detection program, turns out I had a few conflicts too. |
