Title: Corrupted Maxis house?
Post by: kinnika on May 07, 2009, 11:07:02 am
So, I'll try to explain this the best I can.

Have a family in a Maxis house and the furniture is not lining up with the tile. There are certain floor tiles that just will not allow me to set anything on top of. When I do, the actual object shifts to the next floor tile even though the highlighted green square is still on the floor tile I want to place it in.

Lights won't even set in the right spot. They will automatically slip into a diagonal place and I cannot get the other lights placed so that they are in an even nature.

When I move certain doors, I'm moving them (the green highlight), but the door stays put.

Is there a way I can fix this or do I need to just demolish the house and move them out?

Original came with the game Maxis house or one you downloaded from the Maxis site?

You don't happen to have the boolprop snapobjectstogrid false setting in that house do you?

It almost sounds like what happens when you use columns to build an elevated floor over a pool or drive way etc. and then remove the columns. That can cause placement problems sometime too.

That's about all I can think of with it.

Hm... I have had no columns on the lot, but I can see how that could screw things up. Thanks for the tip, though.

You didn't happen to put a pool or an indoor pond in the basement of the house?

I've had this issue with non maxis houses that were down loaded and it always had to do with one of these things, the columns that I mentioned earlier or the use of the constrain floor elevation cheat horking something up.

Yeah, none of that. Oh well.
