Title: Blue Coating on Lot Floor?
Post by: Crystalline Sun on August 23, 2009, 11:20:53 pm
I just downloaded a community lot, and it has a lower floor situated below ground level. This lower floor has a blue "coating" over the floors and bottoms of decorative objects, as if it were flooded with a few inches of water. There's a lake adjacent to the building, so I'm wondering if this is perhaps causing the "flood." Is there any way I can repair this?

If the lake is close to the building that could, indeed, be causing the problem. My suggestion would be to remove the lake and "rebuild" it farther from the house and see if that has any effect.

Another thing you can do is to move the lot to higher ground. Looks like having the basement has caused the lot to go below the level of the water table. If moving the lake doesn't work, move the lot to higher ground. I've had flooding in houses with basements with no lakes nearby. It's usually caused by using a fairly flat terrain for the hood and elevating the ground to be away from the water table seems to be the only solution.
