I tried to use another DVD drive but the situation doesn't change also rebooting is useless a weird thing is that my pc recognize correctly the dvd what can I do? Obviously my dvd is original and before yesterday it worked fine Thanks and sorry for bothering you so often :( I've posted in the general section because the problem is not neccessarily related to AL Title: Re: My AL EP dvd is dead or...? Post by: ladymiriam on September 07, 2009, 03:05:50 pm Whenever my game has refused to start it's been the cache files causing the problem. Delete those-you'll find them in the same folder as your Downloads folder. There is groups, accessories and cigen, there may be another but I can never remember the name of that one. You may not have them all but deleting them does no harm and the game will generate new ones the next time it loads, so it may take a little longer than usual to load up. I always delete them before I play to avoid them getting corrupted as they have a tendency to do. Hope this helps.
Title: Re: My AL EP dvd is dead or...? Post by: Theraven on September 07, 2009, 03:56:22 pm the Contentregistry file (after use of Bodyshop) :)
I had major problems once with those files, though I had no clue they were the problem. The game wouldn't work, and I had to "reset" the game with a copy of the neighborhood every secon or third time i played. But after I started deleting those 2-4 files (before using bodyshop, and before starting the game), I've never had any problems with the game refusing to start (except CC crashes from my own projects in Bodyshop - but that's another story...). Title: Re: My AL EP dvd is dead or...? Post by: winterglow on September 07, 2009, 04:53:49 pm Oh thanks! Thanks so much! :D
I was really afraid thanks again! :D I will try immediately Title: Re: My AL EP dvd is dead or...? This gets huge after a few plays, so deleting these files will not hurt the game and will possibly speed it up, except when you start browsing the items.
