Title: in game skin changer
Post by: Poet on October 26, 2009, 03:15:39 pm
Is it possible, or does it already exist, an in game skin changer. Something to change neighborhood, NPC, or even a skin you realize doesn't work, or simply don't like, to another skin ie a custom skin?
I would love tp see something like this, if it is at all possible to make.

I've seen the one on mod the sims, but it's not what I'm looking for. I want something to change whatever sim I'm playing, or NPC that happens along, to a custom skin from my bodyshop collection.

But thanks anyway.

The one that is currently on MTS2 has no skintones pre-entered. You have to use his scan tool to scan your downloads folder to load them into his skintone prototype. It requires a little knowledge of SimPE to make a clone  of the prototype and to give it a unique GUID, but it will then allow you to change any and all the Sims in your neighborhood to whatever skintone you desire. One suggestion I can offer is that if you have multiple skintones for the many bodyshapes like many of us do, I suggest you copy them to a folder on your desktop and then sort them by shape first, placing them into folders named for that shape and then scan each folder individually for the best results. I know it sounds like a pain and it is but the end result is well worth it. But just so you know there is a limit to the number of skintones you can include in a Skintone changer (I think it was 2500) and the change is not genetic. There is a tutorial here in the tutorials section to help you fix that.
