Title: WCIF: Water Mod? *Found!*
Post by: Hammie on April 18, 2010, 06:29:10 pm
I remember having this mod before my game crashed this winter. It made pool water and ocean water look real and well, more like water. Google happens to hate me at the moment, and I've browsed several other sites trying to find it. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Any replies would be greatly appricated, and thank you for your time and help.

Hmmm... OK various water mods I've found. I don't know if any of these are it, but I thought I'd toss them out there anyway.

Pond water mod (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=98013)
Moi's Neighbourhood Water Global Mod (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=225473)

You're welcome, Hammie. I'm glad I could be of some help to you. Oh, and you can go ahead and call me "Joy", like (nearly) everyone else, since it is my name. ;)

I'm racking my brain trying to remember where I have seen a mod like the one you described. Is it the one that has a dark "clear" look to the water and is reflective?

@Joy-Okay. Joy's a very pretty name, by the way.
@Chaavik- Something along those lines, I can't remember if it was a game mod or a camera mod. It made the water kind of look like gel. More realistic, and thicker. Haha, it doesn't sound very watery, but I do remember it was beautiful in game. The pools looked amazing. 1rock

Turning on reflections helps a lot too - if you have a graphics card and a computer that can handle it. I was amazed at how good pool water looked after I got my new computer. Didn't look htat good on my laptop, where I rarely played with reflections on, since it took a big chunk out of the memory...

I was just thinking maybe a certain pool wall covering would help you out in making the water look real.

I'm currently using dark pool wall covering (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims2-sets-wallfloor/title/Dark%20Pool%20Walls%20with%20a%20Touch%20of%20Class%204/id/865046/), and the water looks amazing in my sims homes with this. That creator has a variety of wall coverings to choose from.

Booty link (http://ls.paysites.mustbedestroyed.org/booty/ts2/tsr/izazu/) if your interested. I don't know, was just a thought :)

Here's something else for the pond water. (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=328098)  I'm not sure about the ocean water, but I do know that the radiance light mod (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=290746) has some more enhancement to water reflectivity.  ;)

ETA:  Psychosims (http://psychosim.livejournal.com/4708.html#cutid1) has a neighborhood object for the ocean water... not sure if this one is what you're looking for, but the concept behind it might interest you.  :)
