I have been playing the game for a few years but never really been into all the mods and all that. My girlfriend and I have been wanting to get more involved and this is the site we were directed to. If anybody could give us some tips on how to do some of the stuff that would be awesome.

If you're looking for help on creating your own content for the game, then My Game, My Way (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/board,730.0.html) is the place to look for tutorials, mesh creation, relcolouring help and more. Take a look at what's there. There are a ton of tutorials and a huge amount of questions already asked and helped with. If you're having problems with your game and need help in making it work again, then the General Sims 2 Help (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/board,43.0.html) section is where you want to go. Ha. But we are basically trying to figure out how to download a mesh and how we need to get them. For example, we were trying to get the tongue mesh and the duck slipper meshes and it kept saying we needed to unzip a .rar file. How do we unzip that kinda thing?

It has a lot of information on downloads. In fact that entire FAQ section is worth a look-see. :) Note, in these threads many of the images are missing, but it's still pretty straight forward. This section (http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_2_Game_Help) of the SimsWiki is good, too.

just one more question, uh, after you download the files and unzip them, I read somewhere that we have to put the files in the download folder for the sims, in order for the stuff to show up.. where is this folder located?
