Title: unsure of what to do Post by: Bishopsire on February 12, 2007, 05:29:07 am Please help!, when ever I play my game on my computer,after awhile it slows way down and I get a message that my virtal memory is too low and windows is expanding it. Is there any thing I can do to stop this from happening. Thanks in advance to all who answer.

I am not sure if this will help you, but you can try and see if it works. Go to your start menu, then click on control panel. In control panel, locate your system icon and open it. In the system menu, you will see the Advanced tab, click on it. Under the list of visual effects, processor schedule, memory usage, and virtual memory, click on settings, in settings, make sure you choose the button for best performance. This will change the way most everything looks, but it will let your computer operate and concentrate more on what it has to do and not the way things look or are used. Really hope this helps you. One tip I have for you. If you do not have an updated graphics card, that may have an added amount of memory, it can also cause the slowing down. Here's a few things you can do to help improve game play: Set shadows to OFF in graphics/display settings of the Sims2; In game options, turn off neighbors and set view distance to small; Defrag your hard drive regularly; Shut down all programs running in the background that you don't need (instant messengers, etc.); When you notice the game starting to slow down, reboot your system. This will help free up system RAM and resources; runs Sims2pack Clean installer and get rid of duplicate files in your Downloads file (they'll be highlighted in pink); Run the Sims 2 Hack Conflict Detection Utility from http://www.simwardrobe.com and resolve any conflicts it may find. (Sometimes conflicting hacks will slow your game down noticeably).
