Title: Game Crashed Post by: GeneralGenlak on June 06, 2007, 05:01:19 pm I don't know why, but I downloaded the InSIMenator and I downloaded the AlZip thing to install the InSIMenator and then I restarted my game. Now every time I start the game it doesn't even get past the screen where is says it's calibrating everything before the music starts to loop over and over again and it stops at whatever it said last. Then after about a minute a pop-up appears and says "The game has crashed" and then something about gameply terminating (I'm don't remember exactly). Could some one please help me out and tell me how I can get to playing the game please.

Title: Game Crashed Post by: Ghen on June 06, 2007, 06:01:06 pm There might be something (other than Insim) that has been corrupted in your downloads folder I suggest backing up your game files (I usually back up the The Sims 2 folder in My Documents) and then removing your latest downloads, when I had this problem I discovered that it was my SavedSims folder that was corrupt, do you have SimPe installed?
Title: Game Crashed Post by: Ellen Prochaska on June 06, 2007, 06:35:48 pm I have had things like this happen. I would not think that it is insimenator. But what I would do is use clean installer which you can get herehttp://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/ (http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/). Usually what I do before I sort by date is I scroll down and disable everything that is highlighted in red or pink. Usually that works. But every time I have had this same problem it was because of a corrupted wallpaper file, terrain paint file or some other small replaceable file. Or you can use Squinge's hack utility which you can get here: http://www.simwardrobe.com/ (http://www.simwardrobe.com/). You may also want to pay attention and see how much ram your game is using, in my experience if it runs out of ram it will obvouisly crash. Usually you can help your ram by clearing out unwanted downloads or by getting more ram. You might want to also try a ram booster. Also check to see if your video card is up to date. Hope that helps.
