Title: Bodyshop Problems
Post by: KacoshiAjewl on June 17, 2007, 04:20:03 pm
Ok I just installed the patch for Sims 2 Seasons and now my bodyshop is crashing on me when I try to open it. I get the aplication has crashed warning. I checked my hacks and all of my Downloads none of them seem to be causing it could it be the patch? I'v heard patch two (the one i have and downloaded a few weeks ago but hadent used it yet) has problems could i have the defective patch thats messing around with my bodyshop i realy need it becuse i find CAS sims dont make as cute children as bodyshop ones do.

Try removing your Saved Sims folder instead and see if Bodyshop will run then.  You may have a corrupted sim inside of it.  If not, then try deleting your Groups.cache and Accesory.cache files.

Bodyshop also uses the cigen.package.  Delete that one also (it will be recreated).

Make sure also that you are using the correct version of Bodyshop.  Apparently every version of it is hardcoded or something to the EP it came with and they are not interchangeable.

to follow up on what ancienthighway said, you can locate cigen.packahe here:

PCs:
~\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2

Macs:
~/Home/EA Games/The Sims 2

Your SavedSims folder is here:

PCs:
~\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\SavedSims

Macs:
~/Home/EA Games/The Sims 2/SavedSims

You can move it to the desk top and replace the files in it one at a time, running BodyShop each time till it crashes.

Every EP comes with a version of bodyshop or not?
When i installed NL my bodyshop didn't work, but it worked when using the one from NL.

yes - every EP installs a new version of Body Shop, but generally speaking these can be as buggy as hell - look at the version that ships with Pets EP.  I have seen that SimPE is tagging some items as "unknown version" even though they were made with Seasons EP and they should be recognised.  This leads me to believe that there is essential data being left out or that a different format is being used.  I don't claim to understand all the intricacies of a .package file, but it seems to me that something has definitely been akilter since the first patch for the Seasons EP.

Mine stopped working after the new seasons patch!

Will try the cigen.package,  and get back to you if it worked!
