Title: Transferred to new computer, my saved neighborhood wont show up
Post by: electrocuting on July 31, 2007, 06:49:02 am
I just got a new computer with Windows Vista. I have re-installed all expansion packs on the new system and transferred all my stuff from the EA Games folder from the old computer to the new. However, when I go to play the game, my neighborhood has been replaced with the default and the default characters. I noticed that whenever you install a new expansion pack or stuff pack, it warns that they will be saving it differently. I have not re-installed the stuff packs and all my saved progress is probably under the H&M stuff pack. Could that be why? If not, could someone please help me and tell me what I did wrong? Thanks.

That's part of it.  Reinstall your stuff packs, run the game once, then delete the Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville that the game created.  Now put your hoods back in!

Didn't work. Any other suggestions?

There was no need to delete the hood the game created, you just need to put your back-up in and most importantly the neighborhood folder.  So you reinstall the missing packs you had when you did the back-up, put your back-up in and the hoods are still not showing?
