Title: Seasons and Custom Careers Post by: SpiderG on August 04, 2007, 12:44:23 am Since I installed Seasons, I cannot get into any house with any custom careers or custom majors in the downloads folder. I have uninstalled and reinstalled S2 and expansions, created new neighbourhoods etc.
I have the following Careers and Majors: Career Nurse Education Psychic Star Fleet Priest Priest Teen Star Fleet teen Alchemy adult Alchemy Teen W&W Adult W&W Teen SF Car Banking Movie Rock Musician Cryptozoologist Teen Cryptozoologist Accountant Teacher Music Alien Investigator Casino zzzzzReal Estate Racing Hacker Hacker Reward Drug Dealer Playboy SimandGabanna Writer Adult Painter adult Painter Teen Writer Teen PirGun Pirate Paraphychologist Vampiric Dance Teen Archeology ChildCare Teen Pet Teen Fashion Fashion Teen Majors Alchemy Archeology Cosmetology Dance Education Fashion Firescience Global Warming InuYasha Jedi Marine Biology Paranormal Potions PSI Stripping TheatreEd Witchcraft All have separate ids etc. S2 Seasons with update and ep1-5, sp1 and 2 and Happy Holiday stuff Title: Seasons and Custom Careers Post by: ancienthighway on August 04, 2007, 01:29:46 am Easy answer. Take out the custom careers and majors. Get your game running properly. Then start to reintroduce them just a couple at a time. I see two custom careers that have the same name as Seasons careers which may or may not be a problem, but could cause confusion on your part if nothing else.
Title: Seasons and Custom Careers Post by: SpiderG on August 04, 2007, 04:36:13 am Have tried that. It gets stuck very quickly. I have latest inteeminator, insiminator. Have finally found modlist. Will try again. The duplicate names are from Adult/teen careers mostly obtained through mts2.
Title: Seasons and Custom Careers Post by: ancienthighway on August 04, 2007, 07:06:45 am When it gets "stuck", you may have a career that's not compatible. Leave it out and try the next batch. If these custom careers and majors are something you can't play without, then uninstall Seasons (you did make a back up of your neighborhood before installing Seasons, right?).

Got about halfway through careers adding and removing then had same problem even after deleting previous group being tested. (Until test= failure, I was adding 3 or 4 at a time. When test=failure I try same files one at a time.)
Have now removed all careers again and will start again with the list of successful careers from yesterday. Have re downloaded careers from mts2 and made sure they are all marked EP compatible. |
