Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Tenshii~Akari on August 30, 2007, 07:40:28 am You can only use the bodyshop that came with your latest expansion, and no earlier.
A tip for future reference: make sure you move your Downloads folder out of your "C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2" directory before installing any new EPs/SPs. It's highly recommended that you do that each time you install a new expansion pack or stuff pack. Now try this: ::smilieiforgetwhi:: Move your Downloads folder to your desktop. ::smilieiforgetwhi:: Delete your "cigen.package" "Accessory.cache" and "Groups.cache" files. (located in the same directory mentioned above) ::smilieiforgetwhi:: Try running your latest EP's Bodyshop without custom content, and then exit out of it. ::smilieiforgetwhi:: Put your Downloads folder back in "The Sims 2" folder where it belongs. ::smilieiforgetwhi:: Run Bodyshop once more to see if your content will appear correctly. Please let me know the results. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 30, 2007, 01:42:08 pm You cannot use the basic game bodyshop anymore, you must always use the one related with the latest ep you have install which right now is the Pet one.
Now if you deleted the sim it is normal it won't appear anymore but if that sim was using cc clothes, hair, etc, they still should as long as you did get the mesh for them. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: ancienthighway on August 30, 2007, 07:12:07 pm Do you have a capital "D" on your Downloads folder? downloads with a lower case "d" will allow game objects and recolors to appear in game, but no Bodyshop related CC. It requires the capital "D".
If that doesn't solve the problem, and you anticipate picking up Seasons this weekend, I'd suggest waiting until you get that installed. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on August 30, 2007, 08:10:44 pm I have a captital D in my downloads folder already.yeah i will just wait so when i get seasons it should solve the problem so the lastest is seasons bodyshop?
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 30, 2007, 08:15:17 pm And you do have all the meshes of the cc you downloaded? If not, they won't show.
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on August 31, 2007, 12:27:13 am oh you are right i got some clothes that didn't come in so i think that i didn't have thier meshes come in but how am i going to find the meshes for the clothes by sims2pack clean installer but i don't remember them.
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 31, 2007, 09:20:46 am Normally in clean installer it should say who made the cc if the maker label it right.
From there it is up to you to remember where you got the cc made by this person but often in clean installer you can find a link to the site. Not all clothes/hair need a mesh but many do. Normally when you download something it should be clearly specify if you need a mesh (sometimes it is included, read carefully) or not and which ep is required if any. If you downloaded from the Sims 2 site, huge chance the meshes won't be included. Now if you have a bunch of stuff that do not have meshes, you can use Delphy's download organizer found at MTS2 to check if you have orphan cc and/or duplicates, it can do many other things. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on August 31, 2007, 09:30:57 am oh ok i'll check that out yeah because I think I got a few things that required seasons and I don't have it but I was too lazy too look and delete them. Hopefully this helps but if i get seasons do I still need to get rid of stuff that did not come with the meshes? I was thinking just to uninstall pets and get rid of the clothes etc..that didn't come in and reinstall I think that will be an easier way. I'm going to Delphys Download organizer and see how it works out.
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 31, 2007, 09:39:50 am It might not be necessary to do this now, you can wait until you install Seasons and check your cc then with Delphy's tool, that is really up to you.
Another possibitly could be to delete everything and redownload the stuff you want and make sure you have all the proper meshes if needed. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on August 31, 2007, 05:48:48 pm i downloaded way too much to download all over again so i am just going to use delphys and if that can't help i'll wait until i get seasons and see how it works out doesn't season have it's own bodyshop?
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 31, 2007, 10:12:06 pm Yes it does have its own bodyshop. All ep come with a new version of bodyshop. :)
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on August 31, 2007, 11:19:27 pm ok i installed sims 2 seasons and the patch i just got it and still no custom content. Do i still need to get rid of the clothes that did not come with meshes?
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on August 31, 2007, 11:55:15 pm Yes now is a good time to use Delphy download organiser.
Though I think someone already mention it, make sure your Downloads folder is spelled with a capital D and a s at the end and that cc is enable in your game. When you install a new ep, it often reset your settings. Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on September 01, 2007, 12:44:22 am I'll just start over thankyou for your help but i think it's the easier way because i lost my downloads. I'll just download them with all the meshes this time so next time if i install an exapansion the cc will show up right? So know I download over again it should show up in the season bodyshop. But sometimes I don't get it when you install a new expansion it comes with bodyshop a whole new one comes with no downloads.? Is that correct or mines just didn't show up.
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: MissDoh on September 01, 2007, 01:36:38 am Always remove your Downloads folder and put it in a safe place BEFORE you install any new Ep or stuff packs.
Some cc might need updates so there is no guarantee all will show up but if you have many yes at least some should show as long as you make sure cc is still enable in your game. New bodyshop does not mean cc won't show, it looks like you had some kind of problems. Which exactly, I honestly have no idea but as long as you follow what I just mention above, some of them should show whenever you install new EP or packs. And if I can permit myself to make a suggestion, please do not do only 1 paragraph when you post, it is making your posts very hard to read. Enter key is your friend. ;) Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: caffeinated.joy on September 01, 2007, 10:04:24 am Also, when you install and new ep, you have to make sure cc is enabled. It will be disabled by default. Then, you need to close your game and restart.
Title: I have trouble with bodyshop Post by: Baby_Gurl on September 02, 2007, 01:02:11 pm Ok I got it thankyou for your help yeah next time I will put my cc somewhere in safe place before I install a new ep. Yeah I think the problem was cause I didn't have the meshes I'm not sure too.
Thanks for the tip MissDoh I know it was hard to read it myself .But surley next time I will do It this time since i'm starting my downloads over and including the meshes too. |
