i found a map to the hidden burrows when i was in twikki island. but, i cant figure out how to use the map to go find the place. i tried having the sims click it and the only option is to "view" and they just look at it like its any other deco item. should i bring the map to the 3 lakes with me or something? how do i get to see the map up close so that i can get to the hidden lot?!

Take the map to Three Lakes when you go there.  If you have it, the location becomes an option on the community lot menu when you go someplace.

I got a map for a place in Twikkii Islands, and the secret island doesn't show up for me. I tried the walk to community lot, taxi, transportation, and going to the neighborhood screen, but I haven't seen that island yet.

Is the map in your inventory?

Yes. I checked to make sure it was. In fact, I think the game put it there itself (since she got the map while on the vacation).

Is your sim with the map actually at the Twikki vacation hood right now?

If not, it won't be able to go to the secret lot.  Secret location, like any other of the vacation lot, are only accessible from those hood.

Yes, she was also in that hood. The vacation ended and I sent them home, but it wouldn't let me get to the lot while I was there. I tried several different times. I wanted to take the map out of the inventory and hang it on a wall to see if that made a difference, but the inventory is disabled (nothing can be added or removed, and all options are greyed out).

There are a couple of maps that are just treasures, they don't really go anywhere.  That must be the one you found.

Oh, I didn't know that! It would definitely explain some things. Do you know of a list I can go to to check which maps they are? I believe the one I have is for treasure in Dregg Island or something close to that. I know treasure was involved.

well as far as i know, theres only 3 maps to locations that you can visit.

the Pagoda in the takemisu hood
the burrows in the Mountain (3 lakes) hood
and the witchdoctors hut (i think its called mysterios hut) in the twikkii hood.

i havent goten any others so far, but i will keep my eyes open

The first time I've go in Twikki Island I have found 2 cards (one with an helicopter excursion for all and one for the teen who have dig in the ground). 1 card is for the witch hut (lot for Twikki Island) and the other is a "pagoda in the mist" (for Takemizu neighborhood probably). So babyblue, it's maybe a card for another neighborhood. ;)

The first map I found I was clicking like mad on my sim and selecting 'Walk to lot' and searching for the ? symbol net to one of the lots, I couldnt understand why my sim couldn't go.

THEN I realised the map was for Three Lakes not Twikki, I quickly went to Three Lakes and finally found the secret lot. lol

I'll take a look and see if it's for another vacation spot, but I'm pretty sure it was for Twikkii Island.

There's only those three. Once your sim goes to all of those you unlock the "found all vacation secrets" in the sims vacation memories.

Oh! Ok....well that sucks....I spent all that time clicking, and clicking, and it was only a decorative map...

My sim found the map to the secret pagoda hut in Takemizu Village under the tree in the backyard.  When they go to Takemizu, they couldn't go til they learned the bow. Took one sim day for a local to approach the family with a bow. LOL!

I sent my sim there without knowing how to bow.  After my sim had some tea, the Wise Old Man taught him to bow, then the Tale.  Afterwards, as my sim was leaving, WOM started to Tai Chi, so a quick teleport back to him and picked that up too.  Only reason I didn't stay for the grooming the Zen Garden was hunger.

or just get the insim and you can get everything plus the vacation mementos to go with it :D

I have the maps and I am in the hood for said map and I get the question mark next to the lots and my sims go there, all but the mysterious hut will load and my sims can walk around and interact but the twikki village one doens't load at all, it jsut sits at the loading screen and I eventually have to just close my game for not responding.

for how long? when I played last time, it took my game an hour (been almost one and a half once before) to put a new family in a new house I built. how long it takes depends on hether you've played the lot before and how much CC you have installed/how big the lot is. vacationlots/non resident lots takes for ever to load in my game, but usually (not saying always :(), with a lot of patience, they eventually shows up.
