Title: sims freeze at 7pm! Post by: vickylougrl on October 23, 2007, 03:09:14 pm Ok I haven't seen this particular problem posted here but my sims freeze exactly at 7pm sim time for some weird reason. the animations still work like ingame noises and fire in fire place ecetera but my sims will not budge they turn to stone the minute their clock hits that hour! ugh...so weird does anybody have any idea what would cause this?
I'm so turned off because I'm in like two contests I'm going to have to drop out of because of this. Please help me! btw it's not the neighborhood that is corrupted because I moved them and the same thing happened. Title: sims freeze at 7pm! does the game eventually un-freeze? does nightfall occur? That used to happen to me too, until I upgraded my graphics card. It'd only last a minute or two until my old graphics card could render the lighting from day into night and vice versa. For your contests- if you don't need night time shots, you could use the set hour cheat. Open your cheat box, type in sethour 8 (think military time when choosing and entering a number) voila, it's 8am. Also, there's a hacked object on MTS2 that will make it daylight all the time on the lot that it's used on. I'm not sure that cheat will work since I don't have university expansion I thought that was a university cheat? I'm so frustrated with my game never working right ugh...and from the size of this humongeous thread I'm not the only one maxis is making so much money can't they put out a product that is not so glitchy?

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that initially. I believe it carries forward through expansions past OFB. There's a mod by the same creator that does the exact opposite as the one I mentioned previously- though not having used that one, I can't say whether or not you'll be able to revert to having daylight on any lot you use it on. http://www.modthesims2.com/member/showthread.php?t=238016 I did fail to mention that both mods require Seasons to work. Does the game crash at 7pm? Have you tried giving it a few minutes to right itself after it freezes? |
