Title: BLAAAARGHCRASH Post by: Kurama's_bunny on November 04, 2007, 03:53:08 pm Everytime I try to get my sim a job, the stupid game crashes. As soon as I click accept. It's done it 3 times today, and the damn game takes like 10 minutes to load every time. Help please!!
Title: BLAAAARGHCRASH Post by: BeosBoxBoy on November 04, 2007, 04:28:07 pm Kurama - you have the job crash bug =( I have never been able to make it happen on my system, I know it happens to many people, but not being able to make it occur here has made it impossible for me to figure out an effective way to avoid it that will work for all players.
If you have any custom careers or career mods, you might try disabling them - but this only corrects it for a few people with this problem. Others have had to use some cheat or mod like InSIMenator to assign the jobs to their Sim. Some have had to use SimPE (make sure you use only a version of SimPE that works for your EPs!) hopefully someone who has suffered this bug will post a solution here. Title: BLAAAARGHCRASH Post by: jinyc on November 04, 2007, 04:40:10 pm The only time I had job crashes with the PC, newspaper or InSim it was related to the BB skins I was using. Yakov, once you explained the wierd incompatibility with these skins and job selection and suggested I use only Maxis skins when selecting jobs the crashes stopped and have never returned. There is no crash after returning a Sim to a custom skin once a job has been selected.

If so send him to the dresser to change to a Maxis everyday outfit (presumably one is available in there). If you have no Maxis clothing available and no "buy at home" clothing hack you will have to send him to a store to buy Maxis day wear. So complicated!!!!!!!
In any case, once or if Maxis daywear is available as a choice just select it for your Sim. Then, with him wearing the Maxis clothing, have him select a job. Hopefully, and especially if he was wearing BB daywear before, all will now go according to plan. After you have successfully gotten him a job just go back to the dresser and put him back into his original custom daywear. I hope this helps. I rarely use plain maxis stuff. T_T
